yay i found your review! sorry i nagged you!

we booked the jr. jacuzzi suite too ... i'll have to make it a point to use that jacuzzi! LOL i can't believe you guys never got in it! did you use the jacuzzi at the spa?

so glad gustav gave you a break long enough for the ceremony ... yours are the first pictures i've seen with bubbles! i was starting to think bubbles at a wedding were just a local phenomenon! never really thought about doing dinner in the ballroom just to get some air conditioning! might have to consider that!

love your beer coozies (or whatever they're called) and looks like everyone had a fab time! a million congrats!

Are there balconies to the rooms? (seems like all the pictures I see there are no balconies. How was the reception? Did the three hour limit go by fast? I can't wait to see your professional pics.
I absolutely loved the resort and recommend it 100%! You can get married on the beach... I have seen pics and it is gorgeous but I don't know where I saw them... maybe someone on here has some. All of the rooms have balconies. Our jacuzzi was ON our balcony! And they are all pretty large. The first floor ones have hammocks which is pretty cool. Here is one from my uncle's room and then the one from mine:

And also the construction info was a really good tip....especially for those who are leaving soon. I did want to ask you about the Jr. Jacuzzi Suite...Is the Jacuzzi on the Balcony?
Yep, it's on the balcony!! But no one can see you... it's kinda in a corner... hard to explain but if you look to the pic above, it's all the way to the right. We were totally going to do a neked swim but just never got around to it!!

There are other DJ options. I think that Kat is bringing her IPOD which is honestly what I wish we would have done. There was a 'MC' at the reception who basically ran the show and if we had just given him our IPOD, I think he would have done a better job. She should be back soon so she can give you her insight on that. I also think that Dreams has a DJ option but I think that it was pretty expensive.

Gosh, the time went by SO fast. If I had to guess, I would say that the eating part took around an hour and then the dancing and stuff was the remainder. I really think that they kinda jipped us with the time though because ours started about an hour late and seemed to end about 1/2 hour late only. O-well! We had SO much fun afterwards in the lobby bar that no one really minded moving.

I was wondering if you did a rehearsal/welcome dinner, and if so- was is good? worth it?
I think that if you just tell him NOT to repeat songs you'll be fine. After the third repeat i got a little bridezilla on his ass and it seemed to stop!
We didn't have an 'official' welcome dinner or rehearsal. Actually, I would recommend a bit of a rehearsal though because no one really knew what to do!! It turned out fine because everyone basically knows how weddings work but after the ceremony, me and Chris walked back down the aisle and had no idea where were supposed to go!!! We just kinda wandered around!!
We did have an unofficial welcome cocktails... aka all 40 of us met in the bar and drank them out of booze! It was awesome!!

I went down to concierge with the attached form and highlighted the bottom part where it says that it's complimentary when booking a Honeymoon Suite category for a minimum of 7 nights or if 5 rooms are reserved for a minimum of 3 nights at any room category. We meet both of those requirements and in the Dreams Ultimate Wedding Package description, it lists Honeymoon Package. They really didn't give me a hard time about it. I was very insistent!

Yea, we used the jacuzzi in the spa for a bit. It was just so damn hot...
She was actually supposed to wait and do the bubbles AFTER the ceremony but they were definitely bubbling during the whole thing! It was really pretty though!
I have an AWESOME koozie guy if anyone is interested!!

So I was looking at another post here... one with only pics... and the terrace now does not look like the terrace in the pics... In fact, the terrace looks like crap now! I think that they are revamping it or something. Had it not been for the weather, we probably would have still had the reception there, but don't be surprised if the pics aren't what you get...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
