season runs june-nov, but their are definitly peak months. you also want to think about being late in hurrcane season or right after it, because it can take a while to recover. the resorts do usually clean up fast as long as it wasn't a huge storm.
I know. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping nothing will happen.

Our wedding is on the last offical day of hurricane season, but I have been watching the storms closely. Luckly, Punta Cana doesn't get as much of the hurricanes as other parts of the Domincian. Doesn't mean they don't get the rain or that they won't get hit, but look at last year when there was a hurricane in Dec!

I am flipping out. My resort took a direct hit from Ike. Reports are saying that it's in ruins. I am due to get married there in 10 weeks! The travel agent tells me that we have to wait and see what Sunwing says when they visit the resort next week. At this point I don't know where or when or if I am getting married. Very stressful! I just want to cry!

Angel...I am so sorry to hear that...I hope that you get some good news...keep your chin up and hope for the best! You will get married no matter what whether it is in 10 weeks or in longer! Everything happens for a reason!

Thanks CayoLargo, I'm trying to keep my chin up. It's just hard when you plan for a year for your wedding and you want everything to go well. All the invites are out and you have gifts with the date and location. The last thing I ever thought of was that my resort would be wrecked by a hurricane! I am suppose to be getting married at the Paradisus Rio du Oro in Holguin, Cuba.

Tripadvisor forums are saying that the place is totalled....I still have not seen any pictures. We have to wait and see....the longer we wait....the harder it will be to place 12 people in another resort for a wedding.

I just find it very stressful, I wanted everything to go smooth. I am just feeling down right now and can't seem to get myself out of it.

My wedding was to be Oct 15 at the Paradisus Rio De Oro, Holguin Cuba. We were to depart Oct 11, exactly 4 weeks from now. The resort has been demolished. I have no idea what i'm going to do. I'm in a serious state of panic and my travel agent is saying things are fine. I've seen the pics, nothing about that part of the country is fine. I have 26 people coming, not easy to reshcedule EVERYTHING. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!? My fiance wants refunds, there's no way I'm cancelling the wedding. Tears are coming...crap.

Oh my god- breakdown.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
