Hi Ladies,

I posted here once before in the newbie section, Can someone please tell me how do you keep up with the forum, as well as how do you read and respond to them so that you earn points? I am getting married at ROR Oct 24 09, I have booked with Riu.com and gave me cc info for deposit. What is the next thing that I should be doing. I sent out annoucements to people to see who would like to go. No problem, But as far as the resort whats my next step, I would love to have a receptions but what is the best place disco etc... Ladies this is so hard for me I need all the help and advise I can get. When should I try and book for a reception is it better to go with free package than the royal. so many questions please be patient with me lol.

At the bottom of your screen on the left is a box that tells you, you get 1 point for reading, 5 points for responding, and 10 for starting a new thread.

To answer some of your questions, do a search (top of the screen on right). You can also just browse the Jamaica section for ROR and read the Wedding Reviews from the ROR.

They best way to earn points is to participate, so just start reading! If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Erin posted some great pointers.

To answer one of your questions the only way to keep up with all the info is to quit your job and spend every waking minute on the computer. I would use the search and scroll through the ROR threads because there is so much info to be found. Then post when you need specific info that you can't find. Just remember that there are tonnes of brides who have either been to ROR or are going and they all have all the info you need. Don't get stressed, all you need is right here.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's definately hard to keep up and I haven't figured out how many points you need to download files so I keep trying them and even though the files don't open cause they say I don't have enough points...my points disappear as if I used them. Not sure how this works yet...I guess I'll figure it out sometime!!

As for keeping up with the posts...I have to get my computer fixed and didn't have it for 3 days....WOW!! I had a lot of emails and tons on unread threads!!! I just try to use the search and keep the the threads that relate to my wedding. I'm overwhelemed too so you're not alone!

I dont know if you have gotton your ROR questions answered yet, but I would advise you to send a email to Chandlyn the wedding cordinator at ROR to book your Dinner. do you plan on having alot of people, or a smaller group. Semiprivate dinner was good for me and I had 25 guests. I couldnt even tell there were other people there. The main thing is the dancing part of the reception. That is going to cost extra and you have the option of having it at the disco and Seagrapes bar on the beach. I totally love the idea of the reception on the beach, but you will have to pay $10 pp to open the bar, plus DJ expense. I think the disco costs a straight 250. This is 2008 prices. I would book that ASAP because there could be up to 3 weddings and there are only those two areas (I think). I went with the free package and added on. Thats the way I would recomend, the only difference I could tell is the possible room upgrade and the spa treatments.

There are TONS of ROR brides, reviews, and inforamtional threads here. You are in the right place.

Here are some of the older ROR threads.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
