congrats, cattie! and congrats to ayita and all the other may brides returning from their dream weddings!

we leave this coming saturday (actually friday night we are staying at the airport hotel, so everything needs to be done by thursday!). this weekend, i finished up ceremony programs, did a ton of laundry, purchased all our toiletries for the trip, contacted my bank so my acct doesn't get flagged when i try to use my card in mexico, paid off my photographer's balance, and did 2 sessions of tanning (some areas of my body have never seen sun and they were ON FIRE, ladies! LOL). sand ceremony supplies have arrived and i finalized the wording for our reading. bathing suits arrived too. oh, and i arranged a private dinner at the resort for me and FI for the monday after we arrive (it will be our 4yr "dating anniversary"). so finally a weekend where some stuff got accomplished! ok, getting off BDW now so i can do a few more things ...

i got off bdw just long enough to make corsages for the moms, grandmom, and godmom, and to make appointments for our spa treatments and massages at the resort. oh and i took a bunch of pics for the planning thread that probably won't get posted until after the wedding, lol!

as the night went on it has become apparent that i scorched myself at tanning today ... i keep growing redder and redder! so dumb. it's 2:45 a.m. and for whatever reason (racing wedding-brain) i am still up. i should really get to bed.

Lisa you're getting so close!! Be careful the first few times you tan. If you burn, skip a day. Also make sure you lotion up really well after you shower, and try not to shower for 30 mins after you tan (your skin is actually still tanning) Everyone laughed at how dark I was for the wedding. Now I have the AHR in 2 weeks, I gotta get my ass to the tanning bed again!

10 Day Weather Forecast for Cancun, Mexico - weather.com

why does the 10-day weather look like this?!?!?! someone please tell me that it rains everyday for like 10 minutes in cancun! i looked over a week ago and there were showers every day too. aaaahhhh i will freak out if my DW is ruined by rain!!!!! my resort is NOT pretty at all if the wedding needs to be moved indoors (sorry, it's just not. the location is what is beautiful because you're surrounded on 3 sides by turquoise water, the resort is old and blah). not to mention all the money everyone is spending to enjoy a week indoors instead of on the beach playing in the sunny caribbean!?!? ugh. i am not bridezilla at all, but if there's anything i can't stand, it's the things i have absolutely NO control over. i can't help but worry myself.

i know, i know ... big picture ... marrying the man i love ...

Lisa, they called for rain the on our wedding day also. We actually managed to get the whole ceremony in, plus pictures around the resort before it decided to downpour! You will be fine!! They say it's lucky if it rains on your wedding day!

I am FREAKING OUT! I leave tommorow and I have so much stuff to do! I was designing my programs last night and when I was almost done freaking Illustrator crashes... Took me like an hour to finish after that. Could have been worse. I finally finished my bouquets and oh yeah... I don't have a veil sad.gif My ceremony script that I copied and pasted I LOVE, so thats good, but now I have to go get ready for work and function on less than 3 hours of sleep.

Bianca- I feel you!

I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to let a few DIY projects fall to the wayside... there's just no way I'm gonna finish 'em before we leave, and I've been sick since Thursday, which means I really need to be resting! (I still have no voice... may have to hold up a sign that says "I Do" on Saturday.... lol

We ended up doing OOT bags at the last minute but they just contain a couple small things and the welcome letter. My mom and I did them all and packed them yesterday and today I'm trying to figure out how to pack my suitcase and the 2nd bag with all of the centerpieces and whatnot...

Since they pulled the lobster as our entree (lobster season is closed and they didn't bother to tell us until last week), as of right now, I'm not sure what half our guests are eating for dinner....

Just ready to hop on that plane and let it all go. lol I refuse to stress about this once we reach Jamaica!

Hey Lisa-
When I looked at the forecast before we left it said the same thing-it was sunny and amazing every day we were there. Don't worry about the forecast-if it rains in cancun it rains for maybe 5 minutes and the rain is really light and it is still really sunny. It rained our last day and it was awesome. Still really hot and sunny and this really fine rain.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
