Hello girls !

I just wanted to say hi ! My wedding was so amazing. Everybody had a blast ! We ended up the party at 4:30 in the morning with DH's brother, DH's best man and some guests from the hotel that were really cool and that we had invited to party with us after the dinner so nobody would be left out. The weather was amazing, the food delicious, the hotel staff perfect, the wine amazing, the music awesome. My Dad stole my first dance (he stole me after like, 10 seconds of me dancing with DH) ! My mom was so drunk she does not remember somking a cigar or seeing the cake even though she was sitting next to it for almost an hour ! She was dancing like crazy ! Both our families, that were meeting for the first time, got along so well that it was just a pleasure, not being stressed about anything. The Friday night welcome drinks helped a lot as it allowed everybody to meet before the ceremony itself. EVERYBODY used their Alka Seltzer - I should definitely have put more of that in the OOT bags !!!

I hope everybody here have the same experience. It was just what I had dreamt of - perfect wedding in a perfect place on a perfect day.

Can't wait to see pics !

Well girls it's official my wedding is not in Mexico anymore!!

They cancelled my flight at lunch time. I couldn't get booked up in St Lucia as they wouldn't marry us as they didn't have the paperwork in time (think thats crap the TA has a deal going with barbados!)

So i'm going to Barbados! FMIL has cancelled, one of my friends is now coming on her own and the other is still bringing her whacky mate!! because it'll be cheaper for her - I can't stand the mare so that'll be interesting lol but as I said to her today she'll find a bloke and ditch us for a week - i hope anyway!

I'm gutted totally gutted I have no idea what date I can get married, still waiting to hear from them, and I don't want to go there oh yeah and it's costing us about £200 each more as we are having to fly to london!

marie, that's positively awful, and it has got to be so nervewracking to have everything up in the air so close to your wedding day!!! i would be a total headcase. if it's any consolation whatsoever, i had a cruise stop in barbados and it was wonderful ... best time i've had in YEARS.

AND, no FMIL!!!

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but that's total crap. The residency requirement in St. Lucia is 2 business days, but if you pay the rush fee ($150), you can get married the same day. FI is arriving Thursday evening, we're submitting the paperwork Friday morning and will have the go-ahead by Friday evening for our Saturday wedding.

I've decided I don't like your TA. Based on everything you've told me, he sounds like a lazy jerk.

Yeah well I agree - the hotel apparently wanted the paperwork a month before. So I checked with them and that was right! Couldn't believe it.

I do think it's funny tho that last week he was giving me the gen on St Lucia but then today he wouldn't even talk about it he was all Barbados!

Great, a place I don't want to go, a miserable FI because we now have to go and buy him more shirts and we've lost our extra leg room and his sister is dying, a friend who is bringing a right arsehole with her, no photographer unless we take it up the rear off the resort and i've had to pay £350 for the privilege. I just don't want to do any of this anymore i've fucking had enough of everything shots.gifS&M.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
