Hey ladies ! So I thought I would give you a quick update ! Here everything is awesome as there are no problems here in Playa del Carmen (whereas there are problems in Houston so I'm actually better off here !)

 

10 of my guests have cancelled so we are down to 22. This is still a party ! We are getting married tomorrow as planned ! And I will have to stay away from the office for 72 hours when I get back.

 

My parents were going to Cuba afterwards but had to cancel. Apparently all airports are closed in Cuba right now (which sounds strange to me but this is what I heard). And my brother are going to have to stay in quarantine for 7 days when they come back to Singapore... 7 days at home !!!

 

Other than that, everything is fine. I hope the archeological sites reopen next week when we're on honeymoon... otherwise we might shorten it maybe. Did not decide on this yet.

I have ALMOSt good news. Hopefully by tonight I will be sure but we are in the process of moving to Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana!!!! I am finally a little happy again but trying not to get my hopes too high incase something doesn't work out. Figuring out how to get my photographer there from Texas was hell, but I did the leg work, not my TA, and I found a solution. I have to shell out more money as do my guests, but everyone is onboard and told me that wherever I am is where they will be. Luckily we had a small group. And, luckily the resort had my date. I have to send my deposit but I don't want to do it till the TA says that everyones booking has been successfully switched. I will keep you ladies posted.

that's amazing! *crosses fingers* ... they didn't have my date, and my TA seems to think moving everyone will be "impossible" anyway ... i think she just doesn't want to work very hard.

 

to be perfectly honest, i have to admit i think the dreams resorts in punta cana are actually "prettier" than the ones in cancun/riviera maya. so while it does suck beyond measure to move everything ... it could definitely be worse. best of luck!

so after those mo fo's at usa 3000 cancelled all our flights we actually rebooked EVERYONE on american airlines and EVERYONE has the original dates AND WE GOT APPLE VACATION to waive all the fees and upgrade us to american airlines for FREE! WHOOOO F-ING HOOOOO!!!! I am still anticipating that swarm of locus and hurricane to hit mexico so I am stock piling bug spray and water rafts LOL! At this point all that can go wrong will so I am anticipating anything and everything!!! If any of you are flying american airlines keep me posted of any cancellations!!! After this catrostophe my fi mother said she's cancelling/not going (and did) because she JUST DECIDED SHE DOESN'T APPROVE of her son getting married in MEXICO (mind you we asked her 2 years ago before we said anything to anyone and she said she was down) and who does this a week before we leave WTF!?!? SO after a very nice conversation between me and her (sarcasm)- she changed her mind. This has been one hella week! SO IF any of you have like a ritual of sacrificng a goat or pig or whatever for LUCK please let me know, I can't take no more drama - on the real!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
