Why are so many BMs acting like well... BM for your FI's? I guess my FI was royally smart when he asked his dad. He also has like 5 other GMs for back up. :)

I've been playing phone tag with my MOH all day, I'm scared she's going to say she's canceling. I know that she wouldn't want to but her DH is an A**!

And of course, and BDWers that need to get to Mexico can come stay at my place. :)

I wish we could have my father be his best man (I'm an only child and FI only has a sister and his parents are divorced so only his Mum is attending the wedding) but apparently in Cuba you aren't allowed to have a blood relative as your witness ... so now FI has to kind of grovel to another friend to be a backup! I feel SO bad for him ... I mean, I think all the guys expected it and it's not like he's not close to this other guy (and he's already coming to the wedding) but we have no other wedding party (besides my MOH) and we need two witnesses ... *sigh* It all seems like SUCH a big mess ...

Not to mention my TA just called and the airline we THOUGHT we were traveling with (Transat) we're not ... even though it's written on our pre-tickets ... and when she promised us that she'd block off seats in the plane for us ... well that was a bald-faced lie ... we now have to call her and choose our seats and pay $30/person to do it.

My MOH called the airline we ARE flying with this afternoon and he said they make exceptions for large parties and we should all have the same booking number which means we can call the airline directly and do it. However, I don't see this being MY problem. Why the hell do I have a TA if I'm the one having to call the airline to book my party's seats together??!!!

GRRRR when one thing goes wrong, it ALL seems to go wrong doesn't it?

hmmm ... i know *technically* your witnesses should be from your wedding party, but can't you have the wedding party you want and have some other guest sign your certificate as the "official" witness, if blood relatives aren't allowed? also, my resort will provide a witness if you don't have one who qualifies.

I am just afraid that if I re book everyone (24 people) though the us that they will cancel flights there too and then I will be really screwed.

i understand completely ... all the news of canada's canceled flights has had me freaking out today ... i had a "nothing will stop me from going" attitude up til now but canceling the flights certainly would. what company owns royal? can you possibly be rerouted to one of their resorts in another country (this is what dreams is proposing, either that or postponement)? this is a total shitstorm. wtf? shitfan.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
