For me a wedding is dinner and party all night. This place is not a resort, it's a very small hotel and this was the whole point - to be between us... they have only one other guest... that I'm going to invite anyway... I was really planning to party until dawn, even with music less loud - but being over at 11pm, no. No no no.

We'll see how things go !

For Mfry : here is my dress, this pic is from my last fitting... the final one is on Saturday, although I have lost 4 pounds since I went there last time due to all this !!

As you can see the style is pretty close to yours !!!!!! That's funny.
OMG-your dress is so beautiful!!! It looks amazing on you! Everything is going to work out in the end...

My drama is nothing compared to Ayita's (and I am SO sorry you had to go through all of that so close to your wedding date!) ...

But I decided to ask our TA if she could bug the wedding coordinator at our resort about the size and locale of the arches on the beach etc so I could think up some more decoration ideas (I don't know if any of you girls saw: I Love You, Man the movie, but the wedding scene has these GORGEOUS crystal and flower hanging things that I just fell in love with ...).

Anyways, so I email her and I just got a response this morning telling me that there aren't BEACH wedding ceremonies available at our resort.

Um.

WTF? shitfan.gif

That was the whole point of this wedding and something we specifically asked out TA to ENSURE we could do at the resort we chose and she assured us we could.

So, now I'm on my TA's ass to bug the hell outta the wedding coordinator to make it happen ANY way she can. Apparently the beach is narrow when the tide is high and that makes it impossible to do a beach wedding, however there's a gazebo BY the beach ... um, that's nice but not at ALL what I had in mind. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I'm stressing out MAJORLY not to mention there are still a ton of things I still have to do ... my OOT bags aren't anywhere near getting done, the best man is still in China and has no clothes and my dress still doesn't fit right.

i had a similar situation with my resort about beach weddings... they were refusing to put chairs on the beach for "safety" reasons... WTF.. I bugged the WC myself and was able to work out a solution where i had to write a letter that if one of my guests are injured on a chair during the ceremony, i would be responsible LOL!...

I have ANOTHER minor problem... i dont know if you saw it on the news.. but Conquest Vacations just went Bankrupt!!! and some of my guests are booked with them!!!! i think FI's brother is also booked with them!! aaak!.. Im getting really jittery now because im not near prepared to go yet.. and its 18 days until departure smile41.gif

when would u suggest asking the seamstress to pick up your dresshuh.gif I havent picked it up yet... and its done!

Aww why are we all so stressed??!!! Us May brides should be excited and happy our wedding days are so close!!!

Can your guests tickets be transfered to another airline? They shouldn't leave you stranded and usually offer options. Try calling the airline up yourself if you don't trust your TA ... that's what I would do.

As for the dress - I'm leaving mine with the seamstress until the weekend of May 1st. It seems extreme, but if I suddenly lose like 5 lbs in the last week, I want her to be able to fix it JUST before I leave on the 8th! So, I'd say, leave yours there till a week before you depart. Then you can do a final fitting with her and if there are still changes to be made, they should only be minor, and she'll have a few days to fix them and you can pick it up JUST before you leave. Does that make sense?

I feel your stress. I think because I basically planned everything with my FIs minor input that I feel it is all on my shoulders if things don't work out. ughh... I really need to hit up a patio for a cocktail soon.

I'm having my final fitting and hopefully taking home the dress next Wednesday the 22nd. We leave 5/2 for Florida. This will give her a few days if there are any minor tweaks. I lost another 4lbs so maybe she will have to take it in another inch like my last visit 4 weeks ago. :>

I'm extreme too ! I have my final fitting on Saturday, and I leave in less than 2 weeks ! wink.gif But I'm like you : losing weight... I actually lost 4 lb since my last fitting !! With all this crap going on !!

I was wondering exactly the same thing. We should be excited now, not stressed. And I'm there, not printing my programs or the first 3 pages of the welcome booklet because they all refer to Le Reve ! Sending emails to get people menu choices ! Reviewing contracts and spending hours on the phone ! Trying to find a cool place to go if we have to go party somewhere else (Mummergirl : without being so extreme as going until dawn... my dinner is from 8:30 to 10:30 so if party ends at 11, it means no party at all...) !

Let's stay positive. Everything is going to work out well ! Jax, Miranda, I so hope everything is going to sort out for you too, girls !

I wanted to share a good news - that sure did cheer me up - today I'm wearing a suit I did not wear since 2003 !! Not ALL of my 2003 suits fit, but two of them do now ! Yeah me ! (-27 lbs since beginning of Sept).

Yeah, I was fine and dandy until FO came over to me to ask me if I didn't care if he went to an NFL football draft BBQ on April 25. Now, I don't know why someone would do this in April, but whatever.

In terms of wedding stuff, we are almost done with everything -just the little odds and ends to tie up. But our house needs a major major cleaning. Theres nothing worse than coming home to a cruddy, dirty, messy house after and awesome, relaxing vacay...

So we have 3 weekend left (OMG!!)

This weekend:

Last minute shopping and organizing. Hope to get at least a room clean and done. Need to get his shirt and pick up his coat. We also have some friends coming in for a night and we have to entertain a little for them. So that really leaves us tomorrow night and Sunday...

Next weekend.

DMB Fri night

Saturday - Hangover recovery AM (Hopefully not too bad). Then he wants to go to that BBQ thing I guess, then we have a houewarming/Bday party for our friends that PM, so Sat is out completely.

Sunday - Guess the only day to do stuff that weekend.

Following and Last weekend

Hair appointments, Dentist appointments, Mani/Pedi/Waxing, Last minute packing, last minute cleaning, and any and all things that will and do come up. Oh yeah, and the guys that could not make it to Vegas want to throw him another stipper laden bach party. I cannot complain about this as I really do not care. But that puts him out of commission for ANOTHER 6 hours!!

But other than that...all peachy keen and ready to get my butt to Jamaica

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
