I know!!! Last night FI was telling someone that we had been engaged for 4 months... I was like, ummm.. no... we've been engaged for 6 months and the wedding is only 6 months away. I think he was kind of in shock that it was sneaking up so fast. And it also really hit me when the words came out of my mouth...

I'm so scared to see how fast time goes by after the holidays!

I did however give all people going on our cruise and the ones that are procrastinating, a cut off of Jan 31 to let us know. This way I'm not killed with trying to order all of my stuff for the OOT bags at once. I have bought some stuff so far, I'm just ordering extra stuff that I can always use around the house, like lotion and body wash!

Speaking of first aid kits, I just bought 30 from Target & CVS. They are white Johnson & Johnson plastic kits with at least 15 band aids inside. Anticeptic wipes and gauze are also included. They were only 97 cents each- a great buy, I think! There is a little room inside to advil, tums, etc.

I am giving everyone until 2/15 to RSVP. Now I'm thinking about moving it up. The thing is, I know there are going to be last minute changes no matter what I do.

I think my plans are starting to come along

Engaged August 2nd

What I have done:

-Spent 2 months selecting resort-fought with FMIL for 2 months and decided on The Royal in Playa Del Carmen!!

-Booked Civil and non denominational ceremony

-Paid for our wedding suite

-Deposit pd on the wedding ceremonies

-Booked date of May 27th

-Compiled list of guests

-Save the date email sent

-Confirms with friends that are photographers that they are coming.

Sheesh it feels like I have done so much more...yikes

To do next:

-Dress, dress, dress!

-Finalize invitation list with FI

-Book Flights

-Renew Passports

-Start DIY invitations

So, I keep seeing OOT bags...I am totally out of the loop...can someone tell me what they are so I am not missing something I should probably be doing.

My local bridal shop is having a 50% off instock dresses sale so I am headed there this weekend!

I feel like such a slacker... I got so much done in the first 2 months of being engaged... Ya know... all the big stuff, but there are a million details to still iron out and I haven't really been doing much as far as finalizing the little things... It's just so overwhelming!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
