May 2009 Brides

We are sending ours out later this month or early Oct because 1) we don't know how many people have actually checked our website, so this will act as another reminder 2) people haven't told us either way if they are going or not so I figure this will be a little (hopefully) kick in the butt to let us know either way!

Wow- I'm way behind most of you! I have my wedding date set (May 22, 2009), and I've submitted my contract to the photographer. The rooms are booked, but I haven't gotten airfare yet. Um... STD cards have been sent out, and the wedding website is up and running... But that is about it! I guess I"ll need to go through your lists, make my own, and get my butt in gear!!

I've been slacking lately, for one we're waiting to refinance our house to consolidate debt and take some extra cash for the wedding. So lets see what we have done...

Done -

-Deposit on cruise

-Some OOT bag stuff

-We didn't send invites out since I didn't know we should have when we told everyone!! I've giving the people who haven't booked yet a cut off of Feb 28. This is when the final payment is due through the cruiseline and this way I can have a good headcount!

-Hired wedding planner in Bermuda

-Deposit on flowers through AA

-Booked AHR venue

-My Dress

-Wording for AHR invitations in english and polish. My mom has a friend who is a printer and is going to print them up for us. I bought the stock already.

-Rings, we purchased them in St Thomas this past year on our cruise

-DJ booked

I have alot to do, mainly its more having the cash flow to order items! I do have most of my items picked out.

Woops - I didn't think there was a May 2009 Brides thread & I started one today - Petals lead me here! So, I've looked at everything everyone has done so far & I feel like I'm behind. My FI thinks I'm nuts for starting everything so early, but you ladies seem to be on top of things! Here's what I've done so far:

- Researched & booked resort (DJ, flowers, etc)

- Reserved block of rooms for guests

- Researching currently locations for Welcome Dinner

- Almost ready to send out DIY Boarding Pass STDs

- Hashed out the guest list!

- Created wedding website

- Started Registry

- Designed Logo

- Spoken with a Travel Agent

- Found, ordered, and purchased wedding dress

- Chose BM dresses

- Sent out Thank You's to BMs

- Spent countless hours on BDW!

So, I think that's a good start. I still have so much to do!!!!

Anyone else having people procrastinating on booking? I'm ready to kill people in my FI's family cause they're all saying its to early to book! I would love to start being able to order stuff, but due to not having a head count, I can't!

Am I just having a bridezilla moment?

Only 1 guest (cheers to my friend B) has reserved a room so far. Yikes... lol. It would be nice to know the numbers asap, but all I am just hoping for is that everyone will meet the Feb 1 RSVP. It's our families' first dw and with so many people and a handful of procrastinators I'm worried things will get a little hectic in the spring!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
