Sister vent

Recommended Posts

My sister really pisses me off sometimes. She was talking to me today and said two different things that pissed me off. First she started telling me how their painting their living room and then goes on to say that her and her DH hates new construction homes and that people who buy them just waste their money. Umm hello, we have a new construction home.. So I ignore it and change the subject. Then she starts telling me how her DH wanted to finish up working on the living room this weekend but my sister says she's going to Lansing for the night for some gardening workshop and is staying at a hotel Saturday night. UMMMM she told me she can't go to Chicago for my bachlorette party because she can't leave the her boys (7 & 5)with her DH all weekend and stay at a hotel..... I'm seriously about two seconds away from telling her off and writing her off as my sister.

She is the type of person that only wants to do something if she gets something out of it. She offered to throw a shower for me, yes nice offer, but in the same sentence she said "besides it's a good excuse to have Mark do all the landscaping that I've been wanting him to do for the last few years" (the party would have been in her back yard) SO I told her "no thanks I don't want a shower".. I'm so pissed at her right now.

Tammy that is so rude! rant.gif Ugh I wish I had some great words of wisdom to impart but I don't. All I can tell you is that I am here for you whenever you need to vent. I can't believe her is she really that selfish? She is going to be really sad to learn that when scientists find the center of the universe she will not be it!

Tammy -

I'm sorry to hear that your sister is being a pain in your butt - you don't need that added stress.

Why don't you tell her how you feel? Maybe she just doesn't know how her behavior is affecting you, or maybe shes stressed herself and picking on you to let her stress out. Maybe if you'll tell her she will change her attitude.

Your sister sounds totally selfish. Dont let her bring you down, I am sure she is just looking for a reaction from you. I wouldnt give her the satisfaction of letting her know she pisses you off. She sounds like she is jelouse of you and can never be happy for others.

I wish I could trade my sister for Ann.. I just sick of my sister thinking everything has to be about her. I'm hurt she never asks about my wedding, and when I mention something about it she quickly changes the subject. I'm at the point that I'm going to stop answering my phone when she calls, I just can't deal with her anymore..

just by describing her, i'd guess she was about 15 - but you said she has a 5 and 7 year old, so she's obviously older. it sounds like she's quite immature and selfish. those people often end up very lonely!

My sister is actually older then I'am, she's 37. And I can honestly say if we weren't sisters she is not the type of person that I would be friends with.

Tammy, I must say I can relate. My sister was the same way when I built my house. She's older than me, and I think she gets jealous easily. I think the fact that I reached some milestones before she did bugged her, really bad. She also wanted a DW but couldn't afford the AHR and her FIL's weren't too keen on the idea, so she didn't have one. So, maybe your big sister is just jealous of you. Hopefully she'll be like my sister and realize that her life is pretty amazing and that there is nothing to be jealous of. Everyone lives their own life.

Good luck

    • I and my partner are going to get married on August 12th. We met each other through a lesbian dating website. Both of us want that day to be a memorable day. We are in confused on which dress to wear for the wedding ceremony. Any suggestion on lesbian wedding dress? I prefer white, whereas my partner prefers of-white. Which one do you think will look good? Should we go for same dress or different one? Share your thoughts.
