Great follow-up to my bad night

So some of you read about the drama from last night that had me so upset. Well, when I got off here at midnight I had some baking to do. I had planned on spending the evening baking but had gotten distracted by the problem and then next thing I know it's midnight. The thing is, the baking was to bring to work to raise money for the walk we are doing this sunday for the Humane Society. So although it was already pretty late, I was thinking to myself "I can't let this be worse by ruining a great opportunity to do some fundraising for needy cats and dogs". It couldn't wait as today was friday and the walk is Sunday. So although my husband thought I was crazy I started baking and make 3 different batches of muffins and 2 double batches of cookies! It took until 3am!!!!!!! It was totally insane as I was working so fast, but it worked great to get my mind off things and within an hour I didn't get about my problem at all (although the words of support some of you gave me helped a lot too!)

Today my husband and I brought the cookies and muffins to work, and our co-workers generously donated 150$ in exchange for the treats. All the money is going to the Ottawa Humane Society. We are doing their Wiggle Waggle Walkathon on Sunday and I am SO excited because we have never done it and it will be great to see insane amounts of dogs and I think Charlie will have a blast (assuming he doesn't get overwhelmed, which he may a little in the beginning).

Anyways, just wanted to share my story.

So next time your mother in law drives you nuts, your family is complaining that you are having a destination wedding or your bridesmaid informs you she can no longer afford to travel to your wedding, bake some cookies! And even better, bring them to work and raise some money for a cause you believe in. It worked for me.

Okay, off to bed as I only slept 3 hours last night!!!!

That sounds like something I would do. I am not much of a baker, but I would totally find something to do to distract me and sometimes if I need to get something done, I stay up really late doing it when no one else is awake! It is almost a nice, calm, peaceful time as long as you can stay awake to do it!!!

Mm cookies sounds really tasty to me right now. Great work on raising all that money for such a worthy cause. Good for you not letting a bad night get to you. Perhaps I shall take your advice and try this next time something drags me down.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
