Hello Virg

We are going to Playa Pesquero.

It was a bit worrying to hear that hurriance Ike hit the holguin area badly, but our hotels are fine and any damage will be repaired in the next few weeks. :) There are some hotels which are still closed due to the damage!

We will be out there at the same time :)

We're getting married on June 12, 2009. We were going to get married in DR in Jan, but our circumstances have changed and now we're getting married in Newfoundland.

Which is still a DW because it's on the opposite side of the country from us and about half of our guests!

So far we've:

- booked the venue

- booked the caterer

- booked a dj

- booked the photographer (who is amazing, can't wait to get those pics done)

- got my dress

- sent out STDs v.1 (for the DR wedding)

- got my STDs v.2 from Vista Print and will mail them this weekend

- have a friend lined up to make the cake

- booked a wedding decorator (because I know I won't have the time to do that stuff)

Things that are in the works:

- tentatively have a marriage commissioner booked for the ceremony

- nearly have my BMs agreed upon their dresses

- wedding website is under construction

Hey

Started trying dresses over the weekend. Its was great fun. Was surpised that some places charged £25 to make a booking and try on the dresses. Im sorry, they make so much money from us, it cheeky.

Looked into my invites, not sure about what wording i should use, because the wedding is in Cuba and our recepiton back at home is about a month later.

Im a little worried, I cant find a photographer to take pictures when we are in cuba. Dont really want to rely on the hotel photographer, because we dont know if they are any good. Any ideashuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
