I was just saying I needed a drink last night! Its crazy how much stuff I have going on ASIDE from the wedding. I'm studying for my licensure test, trying to fit in working out daily so I can lose the weight I want to lose by the wedding and preparing to move during the month of the wedding. I need several cocktails!

  • 2 weeks later...

I wasn't planning on doing place cards. I figured by the day of the wedding everyone will know everyone and people can just sit wherever.

*Anyone not doing a 'reception' but just a dinner? We are doing a dinner, where we will cut the cake, do the first dance and thing I figured we would all head over to one of the resort bars. There is like 40 of us so I figure wherever we are there will be a party! Does this sound like an okay idea?

Given we will have at most 30, we plan to do the same thing...just a dinner with a few formalities...cutting the cake and first dance. But, then I figured we would find a bar to hang out at.

Everytime I feel like I got a bunch of stuff done, I realize I still have a lot to do either for the DW or the AHR.

We are possibly going to have a cocktail hour - if one more room is booked, it will be free. We would do a champaign toast and cut the cake there. We are also having just dinner and then dancing at the Disco. No formal reception. We didn't have the budget for it.

So I feel SOOOOO behind...I need to make a list to see how far I'm actually behind.

DONE:
-My Dress
-FI Clothes (3/4 of it, anyway)
-BM Clothes
-GM Clothes picked out, not yet purchased
-Flowers
-Jewelery (for me and BMs)
-OOT Bag Contents purchased (Survival Kits, Travel Mugs, Playing Cards, + Bags)
-Pre-travel Brochures printed
-Luggage Tags printed, but not assembled
-Passports
-Air/Resort booked
-Ceremony on schedule
-Photographer booked
-Some raffia fans purchased
-Created/Printed RSVP card for AHR
-Purchased favors for AHR
-Table clothes/vases/candles for AHR

NOT DONE:
-Purchase GM clothes
-Bride Shoes (for after ceremony)
-Music for ceremony
-Vows
-Decorate Raffia Fans
-Assemble OOT Bags
-Assemble Welcome Booklets
-Labels for survial kit
-Sand Ceremony Frame
-Decoration for OOT Bags
-Hair/Makeup Trial
-Legal Ceremony
-Wedding Bands (hopefully getting those this week)
-Food/Drinks for AHR
-Music for AHR
-Invitations for AHR
-Distribute BMs dresses/accessories
-Schedule mani/pedi
-Assemble favors for AHR
-Flowers for AHR

That is all I can think of right now. It isn't AS bad as I though, but whew...only 10 weeks to go. YIKES!! wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
