April 2009 Brides Check In!

Recommended Posts

Hi girls, I haven't been on here in forever. I definitely have "wedding brain"! I can't seem to get anything accomplished at work. I can't believe it is here!

Are any of the early April brides back yet?

Have you guys started packing yet? I was so on the ball the other weekend but now I feel like I've fallen behind on my list again. I just want it to be here and stop having things to do!

I started packing last Saturday...all my summer clothes, bikinis and hats are in the suitcase. We leave on Saturday and I have Friday off so I will pack everything else on Friday...Hopefully I can fit everything I want into my carry on bag!!

I do think some April brides have returned! One bride that got married at RMB (same resort as me) on Saturday is back already and is working on her review!! So exciting since the resort just opened and we don't have very many reviews on here yet!

I was super busy at work until today so now I know I will be completely useless!!!! Only 2 days of work left though!

Good luck to all you fellow April Brides!! Can't wait to hear from y'all when you're back! Make sure to post lots of pics!

I can't believe it but I actually leave today!!!! I am just at work now for a couple of hours and then off to the airport. I have to over night in Toronto so I won't actually get there until Thursday. I really don't think that it has hit me yet! All the best to everyone travelling and getting married and thank you Ladies for all your priceless help and info :)

I leave the 19th. Today I officially decided I must give up on work for the next week. The girls in my office were totally entertained today by me trying to make decisions on last minute things I'm ordering...what color parasols, paper lanterns or no paper lanterns. Unreal that I actually spent all day stressing over dumb thing!

When do you leave? Its so close! I can't believe its actually here.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi Ladies! Been back for a couple of days and am trying to get back to my regular self...whatever that is now. Our wedding onboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas was more than I thought it could ever be. Surprisingly, Royal Romance, who handles the weddings onboard, did a fantastic job! I took the advice of previous brides and kinda went with the flow and it made that day so much easier.

It was such a surreal experience. I did not figure out what I was going to do with my hair until that morning. It turned out great though. Believe it or not my dress ended up being a little too big...what a pleasant surprise...however since it was a corset back no one knew. I also want to suggest that brides who are shipping their dresses be sure to have business days in case the dress gets lost; this unfortunately happened to me and thanks to the person @ the shipping place I did this and my dress was found rather quickly and I received it in time.

Other than that and a couple other minor hiccups the day went great and I am ecstatic to be Mrs. Boston :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
