Thanks!
LOL which one? There a ton of them all over the Riviera Maya. My favorite (at least from picture) is the Ik Kil Cenote (Ik Kil Cenote).

Who is doing your TTD? They should be able to take you to one for your shoot plus they will know the best time of day for light for that specific location. Otherwise let me know where you are staying and I will find you a copy close to where you are. Carla wink.gif

Thanks Carla! I am bringing my own photographer so he is not familiar with the area. I appreciate any input. I am having a nonresort wedding with a local wedding coordinator in Playa del Carmen. We are staying at the RIU Palace RM

In that thread Morgan gave this site that has some of the cenote locations (although the pricing info is outdated).

The whole yucatan peninsula looks like a swiss cheese, there are Cenotes everywhere. From every hotel at the riviera maya you can find an opening into the cave system ( which are the fresh water springs or cenotes ) close by. Each of them are one of a kind, sometimes you have to walk down a ladder, get into a cavern or you have like a little lake. The water is crystel clear with a lot of vegetation around and beautiful rock formation at the entrance.

My favorite is Grand Cenote in Tulum. Is one of natures best build.

I have been diving most of the caves in the riviera maya .... for any questions regarding cenotes don't hesitate to contact me. I will be more then pleased to help you out.

Totally agree. This site has a great list and you should be able to find one on there that fits exactly what you need.

Not sure if your photographer is willing but maybe the day before he/she might like to go out and take a look at your top selections to see when the best lighting would be....

DRod- TTD is short for trash the dress- its when you wear your wedding dress (or a nice white dress similar to a wedding dress) and take fun, crazy pictures in random places. This link has lots of TTD ideas.

For those who are interested, I received a response from a person at Xel-Ha, and they do allow pictures at the ecopark. You have to sign a form before you go in, but otherwise you are free to do as you wish, so long as you don't interrupt the enjoyment of the park for others! Yay!!

Have you decided to do yours there? I would love to see them if you do. wink.gif

Also if you hear back from Xcaret you will let us know right?

Adias- yes, I'm nearly set on doing TTD at Xel-Ha- if they'll let me, why not? My wedding isn't until next May, so it will be a while until pictures are up, but don't worry, I'll happily share afterwards!! So many great options there! I haven't heard back from XCaret yet, but I've heard they are a little less lenient on wedding pictures, so we'll see. I'll be sure to update you:)

Just heard back from XCaret- the rep said that they try to reserve on-site photo sessions for those who are getting married there only. However, if you pay a $1000 fee, they will allow you to take pictures at the site. Needless to say, that puts Xel-Ha high on my list, and totally removes XCaret- thats about 1/2 my photography budget right there!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
