Am I the only one terrified of getting my dress altered?

Recommended Posts

OMG - I am SO SCARED to get my dress altered!

I made my appointment for this Sunday to take it in for alterations. I only need the bust altered. It fits fine everywhere else - But holy cow am I a nervous wreck!

I have this feeling of dread just thinking about it! I think because since I've had it it has been quietly tucked in the back of my closet and I know it is okay. Leaving it alone with someone is freaking me out!! Maybe because in the back of my mind I always knew that when it was time for alterations we would be close to the wedding date.

I don't know but I am getting tears in my eyes just thinking about it!!! worried2.gif

Don't worry, everything will be fine! Those people alter dresses everyday and I'm sure, especially if you don't need much done, everything will be as you wanted. I just had my second fitting on Saturday and my stomach was turning just thinking about the dress not fitting properly. I have pleading going across my dress, so I was afraid that the alterations would throw off the pleading. But it was perfect and I had to get the entire dress altered. So, I'm sure yours will be perfect if not much is needed!

Oh ya. I was totally nervous- I just kept thinking "if i get this back 2 weeks prior, how am I going to fix a f-up?" It worked out so it was wasted thought.

Just keep yourself sane and remember- they are professionals. They do it all day. If they screw it up, then cross that bridge. For now, no worries. :)

i'm not nervous about the alterations per say, but i'm more nervous about getting my dress back in time. and making sure that it fits.

ok, maybe i'm nervous about alterations.

ACTUALLY you know what i'm the MOST nervous about? staying the same weight from alterations time to wedding time. what if i gain 3 lbs and the dress doesn't fit? or a loose 5 and it doesn't fit?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
