1st step is to copy the link you want to name

2nd step is to create a new thread or new post

3rd step is to type what you want the link to be called (ex. Abbie's Planning Thread)

4th step is to highlight the words you named it (Abbie's Planning Thread)

5th Step is to press the little world icon with the paper clip looking thing on the bottom, it is to the right of the bullet point insert, left margin and then right margin, then it is next!

6th Step is to paste (use CTRL+V) the link you copied in Step 1 into the URL line.

This 'names' the link

I would like to link to my slideshow from my photographer's site (I have permission).. I would like the link to read "My wedding slideshow by... blah blah".. I usually just cut and past the link in my post or siggy.. how do I name the link so it appears they way I want it to?

here is how mine shows up:

Our Wedding Slideshow (by Leigh Miller)

and here it is broken down - just take out the "XXX" i have in there! i had to add the 'XXX' or it would just show like above:

XXX'XXX'Our Wedding Slideshow (by Leigh Miller)XXX'[XXX'/URL]

URL="http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t18855"]Rachel's Las Caletas Review

Here's how it looks in my signature.

In the red area you want to put the actual link. In the purple area, you want to put what you want to name it.

I erased the first bracket so you could read it.

Carly here hijacking Tara's original posting... Here are the directions to get a link to appear in your siggy (or a posting) rather then typing out the whole web address. Example. Google instead of saying www.google.com

- Type, copy and cut the website address, so it's in your clipboard
- Type what you want it called "Tara's engagement photos", or whatever
- highlight those words and THEN click on the globe
- then paste your url in there
_____________________________________

hey, i am trying to make a link to our engagement pictures in my siggy, but how do i get the link to read "engagment pictures" and not the thread url?

Tara - I just went thru ths same problem and Alyssa was kind enough to walk me thru. So here goes...

- Type, copy and cut the website address, so it's in your clipboard
- Type what you want it called "Tara's engagement photos", or whatever
- highlight those words and THEN click on the globe
- then paste your url in there

I hope I didn't miss any steps, so let us know if it worked.
