A guest asked me if they could wear a Hawaiian shirt and shorts......no offense but I hate Hawaiian shirts!! Is it bridezilla of me to request none of these are worn, and how can I word it politely?

Reception is casual dinner wear, long pants, casual dress shirt.

I said the same thing, but I agreed to shorts at the ceremony because its 3 pm in the sun, but long pants for reception!!!

I was wondering the same thing, I'm having a tropical, elegant theme. Thanks for posting.

            Very helpful!

Any advice on wording for a colour theme? Our wedding will have less than 30 people, and I'd love for there to be some colour coordination in the photos.

Some people do all white weddings, which can really be quite striking . Another BDW bride asked for her guests to wear bright tropical colors---you can be a little more specific if you feel comfortable. Or, you can ask them to wear neutral colors that won't clash.

You are welcome. Another thing you can do is to post pictures or links to your wedding website of examples of what you consider appropriate attire. Some people just work better with visual images, and this is another way of reinforcing your vision for your special day.
