February 09 Brides

My band was a little over budget too considering we didn't budget for one! Oh well, only get to do this once, right?! I just never thought I would find one that worked.

We aren't having a bridal party either...I meant all of your FI's but that wasn't too clear, sorry. My FI tried on his sandals with his suit and it didn't look right. We'll either be buying him new sandals or dress shoes.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured too. You (usually) only get to do this once, so it may as well be a band you love looking at hehe!

No worries! :) I was confused! My FI hasn't picked out a pair yet, hopefully they don't look silly with his outfit since I know he loathes wearing dress shoes lol. It shouldn't look too bad though, he's wearing a nice, casual, white collared shirt (rolled up sleeves for a more casual look), and a nice pair of khakis.

Here are a few pics of projects we've been working on:

The bottles are done but I don't have pics yet. Here's a pic of the empty bottle and label we designed. You can't see the label well but it says Jamaican Rum, Est 2009:

We made DIY luggage tags - 2/guest. We asked them to send us a few of their favorite pictures from past vacations. If they didn't have that we just asked for pictures that meant something to them. Of course we didn't tell them why we needed them! We just said they were for a little project. We turned their pictures into luggage tags using self-laminating pouches and put our logo on the back along with their personal information.

Here's a pic of the front:

And here's my t-shirt from Vista Print for the airplane :). It says We're Tying the Knot!

Andrea everything looks great love the idea of the luggage tags meaning something to them.

It is so exciting to finally see the ticker say 2 months .... but makes me realize how much is left to do. We started this week looking for FI outfit since he had a dream he did not have anything to wear and was running late to the wedding lol the things that get them motivated. I still also need to get MOH and flowergirl dresses but I am waiting to see if one of my FG is still coming. Today is the day all our RSVPs were due out of 80 I think we got 15 back... hmmm until we get them we are kind of on hold since the rest of my stuff we really need to know how many people are coming.

Hi everyone! I am late posting to this thread but I am a Feb 09 bride- hooray! I also can't wait for the big day..I don't know what I will do with all the extra hours in the day without anything wedding related :). I think I will go into withdrawals not being able to plan or be on the forum all the time! LOL. Isn't it amazing how the to-do list never ends. Especially my fiance's who to-do list never seems shorter (hmmmm).

So here is what I have done:

Site visit

Had the families meet (major hurdle)

Send out STD's

Send out Invites- about 55 ppl confirmed and waiting on 35 invite replies still

Wrote special thank-you's for those in bridal party

Booked venues/details

Signed all contracts for vendors except florist

spoken to minister about ceremony and did vows

Bought dress/accessories

Got my rings :):):)

Booked photographer (gave her poses), DJ and gave DJ the songs to play

Picked out flowers...I have the "image" of what I want :)

Worked with my mom who is wonderfully doing welcome bags

Bought groom's tux

Booked appointments for hair make-up at Hyatt and apts. with WC's

**Most proud- started working out with trainer :)smile123.gifsmile123.gif

What I need to do:

Transportation for wedding party between locations

Pick a Hotel for remaining three days (to get a mini break from guests :))

Bought FI's ring

Final dress fitting

Picked out groomsmen attire

Get CD of songs for actual ceremony for wedding coordinator

purchase bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts

Confirmed flowers/contract with florist

Get final numbers/stragglers for final dinner count

Do rehearsal dinner rsvp and email or call invite (we lagged on this one because we couldn't decide how big/small and what we could afford after all the other wedding stuff!!!)

Do programs and print up any small signs for ceremony and welcome letter for guests

Pick reading for my brother for ceremony

Have a glass of wine when I think about my to-do list :)

I feel like I am forgetting a million things right now... what have I been so busy with the past 8 monthshuh.gif? For some reason my mind keeps jumping to the "to do" list! I think the remaining items are some of the expensive things..doh.

Wow you sound like you have it all put together. I wish I could say the same. I am too embarrassed to write my to do list on the forum, everyone would laugh. Oh well I work best under pressure.

Are you going to have a welcome dinner or cocktail hour for your guests when most of them arrive? I am debating whether or not to have one.

Are you guys getting as overwhelmed as me? i feel Like the weeks are flying by and I have a ton of DIY projects to do still!!!!!!!!

I am having a hard time finding nice sandals for FI. We originally were going to keep it more casual but now he is wearing a white linen suit and I am not sure that flip flops would look that good. all the sandals i found on Zappos that I like are way to expensive.

Any of you have any ideas where to look?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
