Any Occidental Grand Xcaret brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the info. I think that is too rich for my blood at this time sad.gif

I am actually getting married at the chapel in Playa and have my reception reserved at the Royal Playa Del Carmen. However I am looking to switching resorts (I was originally looking into staying at the Royal and Gran Porto) and the XCaret is my next choice.

Anyway sorry to bother do you have the price list for the reception only for the XCaret resort (not park). I cannot download any docs as I don't have enough points or credit.

Thank again.

sspiris, thanks a lot for ALL the info. Decisions decisions. Does anyone have a direct email, number to the wedding coordinator Marialma?

And what room did you guys all book? My fiancee wants a bigger room for taking pics. So I assume Royal Club and at the very least Junior Suite?

Do you still get the free pass to Xcaret park by staying at the Xcaret resort? This was how it was back in 2005 when I stayed there last.

Thanks so much again! You're the best. Ok we actually booked the rooms yesterday and we are sending everyone to the GFX to stay. Now just have to contact Marialma and compare the reception packages between GFX and the Royal Playa Del Carmen.

So I am choosing between the royal and GFX also. UG such a hard choice. Here is the latest info from Maialma. Once you compare the prices can you post what you have so I can compare it to my own comparison.

Hello Stephanie

I understand that there are two dinner options correct? Buffet and 4 plated meal? Buffet for 40USDpp and 50USDpp for plated, If we have 100 guests can we do either option?

Sure you can do either option for the reception for 100 guests. Not a problem.

The per person charge includes the dinner, 3 hrs of open bar, the private area for the reception, set up with banquet chair and tables with white linen and bar tenders and waiters. Any extra decoration such as center pieces, entertainment and so has an extra charge.

What about cake prices?

The cake included on the package is for 20 people but can be upgraded to 2 or 3 tiers for a charge of 120 or 140 usd.

Oh and about the ceromony I understand the package is for 20 guests only and there is a charge for additional people correct?

What is that charge?

Is there a ceromony charge per guest if we are already paying the reception charge per guest?

At the ceremony there is an extra charge for additional people but as you are having a reception after the ceremony those extra people at the ceremony will be complementary.

In the picture with the green decoration which reception site is featured below?

which ceromony site is this in the pictures?

The ceremony location of the picture you have is right in front of the wedding gazebo. Oh the pictures attach is the area you canâ€t see that is on the other side of the isle.

The reception site is the beach club restaurant

For the reception it can either be 40 or 50 per person for 3 hours with open bar and set up included. The only extra charges are for cake size increase (if over 20 people) and extra table center pieces, I believe entertainment would also be extra.

How many people are you planning on having? (emengeeroxx)

Hi my info for the Royal is from last year and it is not valid anymore. My quote will be honored and this is roughly what it was

4hr reception time
$10 USD more per guest per hour
Dinner ranging between $40-$60 for guests of the Real Resorts
Dinner ranging between $50-$70 for non guests

I have some updated docs for 2010 for the Royal. I will PM u my email and you can contact me and I will send it off to you.

I am considering the OGX for our wedding, but I do have a few questions, for those of you that have been married there or are planning a wedding there...

If you are planning a symbolic ceremony versus a legal ceremony, can you opt one of the wedding packages other than renewal of vows, or do you have to get the renewal of vows package?

I've seen/heard from browsing this thread that the beach at the resort is smallish -- is there any room on the beach for guests to actually lay out, or do you have to stick by the pools?

Is it worth it to upgrade the room (Jr. Suite)?

Thanks in advance...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
