Wedding colors & uses

Recommended Posts

our colors are red & turquoise, but we are mixing in other bright colors in the ceremony with the flowers & fans.

bm dresses = red

gm / fi attire = tan linen pants, white shirts (still NOT sure what color tie FI will have, maybe red or a lighter shade of turquoise / ocean color)?

flowers = mixed colored gerbers, each bm will have a solid color, i will have mixed. my maid of honor will have red. we will also have red roses sprinkled on the aisle & have the flower girls carry more (not sure if these will be a diff color, white maybe?)

tables = white cloths with turquoise napkins, turquoise bows on chairs

placecards = white starfish tied with red ribbon & placecard with name written in red (or maybe turquoise) - i have to experiment

fans = bright mixed colors (will be placed on each chair at ceremony)monogram - red/turquoise = will be used throughout, on tag for welcome bag, on program, on guest book, on luminaries

This might sound like a stupid question, but it seems like you all are decorating for your reception dinner and stuff...I was kind of leaving that up to the resort.

Is there something I should be taking into my own hands? Our invitation colors are chocolate brown and blush pink and my dress is ivory and blush pink. The FH will probably wear a tan linen suit with a blush pink shirt as will my son/ringbearer. I was thinking about getting blush pink paper umbrellas, but that's as far as I was going to really decorate. Should I be taking table runners and place cards and all that with me? Hadn't even thought of it.

I think most everyone is bringing their own decorations to add because it might be expensive over there. But I'm not sure yet...haven't talked to WC yet. I think you can rent those there in mexico too if your hotel doesn't have stuff in the color you want. I think CDM only uses white...so I might add color to that.
I'm sorry if that didn't help you.

It's completely up to you in terms of how much you want to decorate beyond what the hotel provides. Dreams in Cabo has the colored linens for me, I'm just choosing the color I want to use. My WC is getting my centerpieces for me, but I'm making my own luminarias and placecards (starfish). I'm bringing all the stuff for OOT bags, fans, programs, guestbook, placecards, luminarias with me and letting the hotel & WC mostly help supply the rest. How many people are you having?? I am having a big wedding (80-100) people so I want to coordinate the placecards / table setting on my own. If you are having a smaller wedding and don't need to necessarily figure out table settings prior, then I'm sure you can have the hotel supply placecards for you. check with your hotel WC.

My wedding colours will be coral and tan - and I may add in a sage green.

Bridesmaids dresses will be coral and groom will wear a tan suit. Groomsmen will wear tan pants and white shirts. Invitations will be in coral and tan. Other than that I am not too sure on flowers or decorations yet. I just think coral will look so pretty against the turquoise ocean.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
