Sorry one last thing. Kathie I can't wait to see your pics of Mediterraneo, because I have been told they had done a number of upgrades that are amazing. Kristin from Dazzlign Details just went there two weeks ago and told me the place looks amazing.
Notice: The site will be offline this Saturday evening (4/21/18) for a major software update. Thank you in advance for your patience while upgrade to a new-improved version of BDW.

Kathy,
Thanks for the thread and post! My fiance and I are also planning a villa reception. We are scheduled to visit Casa Carol Ann, Casa Valerie and China Blanca in October.
I will be sure to post my reviews and pictures once we return!

OMG!!! China Blanca looks amazing. I couldn't ask my guests to pay the price to stay out in Punta Mita and be so far from Puerto Vallarta, but it is an amazing villa and you would have a beautiful wedding there.
Casa Carol Ann is great too. We decided against it because of the low ceiling and there wasn't a breeze there. Weird because it was windy when we were there. We figured it may be too hot for May wedding.
Best of luck. Can't wait to see the pictures.
If you are set on getting married in PV check out Casa Kalista and Villa Mediterraneo.

Wow Kathy, sounds fabulous! Thanks so much for posting all of this information, it was REALLY helpful - especially for someone who really has NO idea where to start! I love the idea of having a poolside dinner and then moving the drinks/dancing to the separate beachside spot because you're really utilizing all the villa...the beach is private, right?
Also, what is your transportation from ceremony to reception?
The pictures are beautiful and your wedding is going to be truly amazing...keep us posted!

Me too.. When I walked out to the pool area at Villa Mediterraneo I fell in love with the idea to have cocktails around the pool, then sit down for dinner. After dinner all the guests would move down to the private (yes it is as private as you can get in Mexico. It is a man made beach above the water) beach and dance over the water. I can't wait. My wedding coordinator Kristin dazzling details does a great job setting up lounge areas and dance floors so this is what we will have on the beach. It will really be like 3 venues 1. Dreams for ceremony 2. pool side reception 3. beach area for dancing.
We are hiring a shuttle van with a/c for I think but don't quote me $250ish dollars to take everyone to the reception and to make one trip back to the resort around 11pm. After 11pm we will just call for cabs it is only a 5 minute car ride.
Please let me know if you need more info

Sounds like a great plan... The only thing I wanted to ask was whether it was possible for me to easily figure out which villa is which in your photos (other than that ones with signs). I assume the one with the really big pool and raised "beach" is Casa Mediterraneao, right?
I could probably just visit the villa's websites and match them up too! Will the ride from Dreams to the villa take very long? Pics along Zona Romantica is such a great idea!
Will the shuttle make two trips, or does one fit the whole 60-70 (minus wedding party for pictures)?
Thanks so much, you've been sooo helpful! Maybe I'll have some pics to share after a trip sometime soon...!

I am so sorry I thought I put titles under each pic. Oops.
Casa Carol Ann starts the slide show
Villa Mediterraneo is most of the pics and you are right with the raised beach, huge pool and solid white house
Casa Kalista is the one with the lush green grounds, multi levels, hot tub and huge bedrooms
Casa Palapa is the one with people in it. Which is 4 stories high I have a picture of the entire villa from down the street posted. This one is where I stayed this year and plan to stay again next year.
Iguana Hotel is the pics of the hotel which is in Mismaloya very affordable place for guests to stay and it is really nice
Villa Verde is right on the beach with the BIG Palapa very rustic looking.
I will try to go in and put in titles again.
Trip from Dreams to Mediterraneo is no longer than 5 minutes. It is 1km away. I am not 100% about the shuttle service. My fiance and I are going to use a 16 passenger van to get to the photo shoot with our wedding party. Ask Stewart about renting the passenger van from Iguana Hotel he could help you out.
Hope this helps

Kathy:
Why do you say there are some obstacles for Casa Carol Ann?
I booked it for my wedding in March, I did visit it last month though.
I'm planning on having my ceremony/reception elsewhere (Hacienda San Angel) but I'm housing all my friends (and us) at Carol Ann to enjoy a whole weekend of fun together.

Casa Carol Ann is perfect for having a bunch of friends stay at. It is like a mini hotel and a killer price. The obsticles were based around a having a wedding there. The ceiling where you would dine is really low and when we were there thought it was windy there was no breeze at all, and my fiance was burning up during our tour. The house itself is amazing and you guys will have so much fun.
great choice
Congrats....

I am now a villa bride too!!!! I am getting married at Villa Mediterraneo on October 30, 2009 with Dazzling Details as the wedding coordinator. I am so excited and am very pleased with Kristin at Dazzling Details. She is AMAZING!!!! What a stress reliever to have her.
I was originally booked at Azul Sensatori in the Maya Riviera, but changed after experiences with them that were not so great. I couldn't be happier.
