Need help picking Bridesmaid gifts!

Recommended Posts

I know this is early, but it's just the type of person I am. smile116.gif Oh well...I was thinking about what gift to get my bridesmaids for the wedding. I have a small wedding party. Its my 2 sisters (maid and matron of honor) and my 2 nieces as junior bridesmaids (they are 10 and 12 years old). I was going to get them the starfish necklaces from Tiffany. They are kinda cute and I though it would go with the theme.

Tiffany & Co. | Item | Elsa Peretti® Starfish pendant in sterling silver, mini. | United States

I was going to get my sisters the mini (I havent seen them in person, but I figured the mini might be cute. Who wants a huge starfish around their neck) I thought I would get my nieces the mini mini.

Anyway...the mini's are $260 each = $520

the mini mini's are $216 = $432

so in total it's $952 + tax. (Holy censored.gif ! Its the first time I added that up)

Am I being stupid to spend that much, or is it normal? What is everyone else giving? I need ideas! I liked this idea, but budget is also important.

Hi! I'm getting married the same day and I'm thinking of everything now. I don't think it's too early!

I'm also having a small wedding party. My sister and 2 flower girls ages 7 and 2. Try the website KendraScott.com..beautiful jewelry and Loveivy.com for the flower girls. Hope this helps. I was going to get something from Tiffany too but its too expensive for me and my sister has so much from there. I thought these two websites had different stuff!

i think it is possible to find something truly fabulous and unique for quite a bit less than what you would spend at Tiffany's.

I only have one BM who lives in NY and already has all the Tiffany's stuff she could want, so i went with something handmade over at Etsy. It's a great place for unique items. (Granted some of the stuff isn't the quality you would want to give for an event like this, but some of it is wonderful. You're just not paying the "corporate" or image costs associated with a place like Tiffany's.)

This is the big part of my BM gift. There will be a few other small things thrown in... I think it was roughly $100 and looks so much better in person that i have already teased her that if she doesn't like her gift, i am keeping it! (And it will look stunning with her dress for the wedding.)

ok - this is just my opinion so no offense to anyone else but i wouldn't appreciate that gift at all for the cost of it - what i mean by that is that Tiffany's (to me) is not that special and way, way, way overpriced -it is all about the blue box.

you can get them super fabulous gifts for way less money!

what about this:

personalized tote bags

massage GC at your resort

spa robes with their initial monogram

framed pics of all 3 sisters

a nice journal / bookmark

some other odds and ends

if you want to do jewlery, there are some great handmade jewelry vendors on Etsy and even one on this forum (Agape Jems).

personally, i would appreciate something one of kind and unique (even if it was $10) over a starfish necklace from Tiffany's that is $150.

sorry guys!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
