OOT bag contents - **Master List of Possible Items**

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am getting married in Mexico the last week of June and was wondering if you had any trouble shipping trial size beauty products? I would like to include after sun lotion and sunscreen, but would hate to spend the money and get stuck in customs. We already purchased single serve size pain reliever and pepto. ALso, we're shipping some stuff ahead of time. Is it better to walk through customs with the beauty products rather then send ahead? Thank you!

I didn't read through all 60 pages of posts so I don't know if someone suggested this already, but I was just on Amazon and saw Tide Travel Sink Packets (to hand wash cloths in a sink) ~ and I thought they would be a perfect addition to OOT bags :)

I would be nervous shipping right to the hotel. It would depend on you though and your location.  I have found that usually a 2nd or 3rd checked bag is better than going over the weight limit now though.

We are going to be distributing most of our bags at the hotel the night before we leave... none of us live in Calgary, where most of us are flying out of, so we will probably have to stay the night before, and I think that will be a good time. Then distribute a couple more at the hotel itself. That way, we are probably only giving 2-4 at the resort itself. I like the idea of giving them to everyone at the resort, but we are all going down together mostly, so why not do it ahead of time and save the packing space and some money?

Ladies,

I can tell you that from all the people I spoke to prior to my wedding, all told me that customs may be a huge issue when you're traveling with so much quantity of your OOT goodies.

I didn't want to take a chance, so I used a shipping broker to get 150 lbs of my stuff down to Mexico for my wedding this past March 31st.

Frankly, it was the best decision I could have made!  I didn't have to worry about bringing it on board with me, or someone else being responsible for carrying it on.

I packed it, shipped it directly to the hotel, and had it waiting for me when we arrived.

If Mexico (Cancun/Riviera Maya area) is where any of you are getting married, I am happy to refer you to my shipping broker!

Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
