del sol photography honeymoon in Costa Rica

Recommended Posts

del Sol has a pretty big following from the brides and grooms on BDWF and I figured I'd put a post in here updating everybody with our status of recent so you can know when to expect back from us..

Currently, we are taking our honeymoon in Costa Rica for 18 days. August 13- Sept 2 or 3....

We got married Dec 6, 2007 and due to the fact that we work our tails off (82 weddings and 35 ttd's shot so far this year) we decided to postpone our honeymoon 6 months.

Nonetheless, we are traveling in the mountains of Costa Rica and we will go days and days without checking our email. In some places, they claim to have internet but its so slow that it takes me back to dialup days of having 14400 modem and waiting 10 minutes to download one photo.

As lame as it is, we are actually working on our honeymoon but at a very very slow pace, answering inquiries as we can.

We have 4 or 5 days left on this trip and so far, we have had 38 individual wedding inquiries since we left for the honeymoon.... Because we individually answer each inquiry (instead of having a bulk response or a staff robot answer each request) we take time to cater to each client. Therefore, we beg for patience with all of you and thank you so much for trusting our vision enough to inquiry with our studio!

Sol is documenting our travels on her blog, www.soltamargo.com/blog. Do check it out, our adventures have been nothing short of national geographic style nature and wildlife touring!

I am shooting a documentary video of our entire experience and plan on updating this forum with our entire experience in Costa Rica.... we will give hotel info, tour info, and of course, excellent documentary visuals of our trip, aiding in your planning of the most killer honeymoon planning... this place rocks!

We will be back in full operation around Sept 5. Thanks for your patience :)

Cheers!

Matt,

I hope you're having a wonderful time. I've been checking out Sol's blog since you guys have been away. Costa Rica looks fabulous and it looks like you guys are having so much fun! I can't wait until January when Sol shoots my wedding. I can't wait to hear more about your trip since CR is the next place FI and I want to travel to. Keep having a great time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
