What to wear when dress shopping

Recommended Posts

I know this sounds stupid, but what do I wear (undergarments) when dress shopping? I know they have those fancy bra things that suck all your stuff in, but I don't want to purchase until I know what my dress looks/fits like.

Should I wear a strapless bra and nude panties?

Well I know what "not" to wear.. A thong.. I was so embarssed getting help changing with my whiter then white @$$ showing for them to see. I should have wore boy shorts.. But I wore a normal bra.. when you actually order your dress you want to make sure you have all your stuff before you first dress fitting.

If you go to davids bridal they give you a bra to try stuff on.

And as Tammy said, don't wear a thong! I went after work and forgot I was going to try dresses on and even though I was wearing the slip they give you, the top of it was see through and you could still see my bare ass and my black thong, very embarrassing!

Yeah, for sure don't wear a thong...unless you're feeling extra proud of your @$$!! lol!

I just wore some basic (light colored) seamless panties and regular bra. Unless you have a strapless that you really like, I wouldn't mess with it. They'll offer you a backless/strapless one when you get there and that's good so that you don't have a big 'ol strap across your back when you're trying to see which dresses you like!

Just so you are prepared - be ready to show some boobage. I wore a strapless bra but between all the different styles of dresses I lost the bra. The second visit I didn't even wear one. I did wear a thong once - wouldn't suggest it. Go for nude boyshorts.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
