Significance of your wedding date

I was just wondering if there was any significance to the day you picked for your wedding. My aunt asked my cousin why she is picking a date in May to get married and she said she just liked the day. It got me thinking and I thought it would be interesting to hear the significance of the date with others.

For some reason, once I looked at a place in Montego Bay that DIDN'T have April 25th available, I became almost obsessive about having to have that date!

Strange, I know...but it was our first instinct & I wanted to stick with it.

Also, now that I think about it, I am going back to school & that is the week after finals :) I'll REALLY be ready to get away!

anyway - our wedding date is really significant to us - it is our anniversary date - 9/5/03 - our wedding datae is 9/5/08 so exactly five years and on the fifth and also 9/5/03 fell on a Friday and so does 9/5/08!

Our wedding date was more about the day then the month. I met Matt on the 17th and we celebrated every month, so we knew our wedding date would be the 17th. It was originally supposed to be last winter, cuz I wanted to be able to go away on anniversaries in the winter to somewhere hot. But that didn't work out since we had people traveling with us, we chose to move it to a month where the prices were cheaper. So May 17th it is!

We just wanted to have the wedding the end of Dec or beginning of Dec because of the cheaper prices, and the fact that it is cold here then, and warm down there. As for the actual date, it wasn't a big deal except that we wanted to get it over with as soon as we could after getting down there, so that everyone could relax and not worry about the wedding for the rest of their holiday. The date we ended up getting is actually my parents anniversary though, and a close co-worker of mine that is trying to get the time off still so she can come, it is her birthday.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
