Hah - sorry had to laugh but it's so true! I don't really have any advice to offer other than what the other girls said. It is good that you realize that this day is about yourself and Jay, not everyone else. It's totally understandable that you're hurt, that's OK. Stay strong and focus on the positives. That's one of the set backs in having a DW - not everyone can make it. Hope you start feeling better soon.... November will be here before you know it :0)

I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and your probably going to be upset at my response but...isht happens!! Maybe it is a true excuse and maybe she does need this money...I say just focus on yourself and your wedding, you are going to want to share all your fond memories with her once you are back so dont argue with your friend over something she cant help. Maybe she just didnt know how to tell you earlier or she didnt want to back out since everyone else did...I say just go on with your wedding plans and just put that to the side.

So sorry Amanda, that sucks. I had a similar situation as my BF/MOH for the past 19 years isn't coming to my wedding. She hasn't been supportive in any way. I think that some people have different thougths on whats important to them. Everything will be okay.

I understand your hurt. At the same time, we planned our DW wedding knowing that there was a big chance most people wouldn't be able to make it. The reality is that it is expensive for many and a strain on resources. We never knwo what goes on behind closed doors for some and the finaicial realities they deal with. I would not be shelling out this kind of cash with the exception for closest friends only and so can't expect the same of them. Believe me I get sick of my future sister in law to be go on and on about how she could go to Barbados for 2 weeks for the same amount. The next time I may tell her she should! We all know that it is the marriage that counts. The wedding will be fun no matter what. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about your situation. For my FH and I, only our mom, dad, and siblings are coming. The rest are friends.

So no, BM's? No problem! You will have a great no hassle simple wedding....do a bonfire for the reception! Less money you need to spend. Maybe since they all could not come to the wedding, they will buy you good wedding gifts!

You and your hunny are starting your new life together...nothing else matters!

Lots of love and I'll be thinking of you!
