Secrets Maroma Bride

Recommended Posts

I am getting married at Secrets Maroma on 12/05/08. I have not seen any pictures of the wedding areas. Is the resort even fully open yet? I found some good pictures on a Tripadvisor forum. If anyone has any information please pass along…

Hey!

I'm getting married at Secrets Maroma Dec. 7th!! (we'll be there at the same time!)

I think you've actually posted in this in the wrong section...

There is a thread that was started about two weeks ago called something like "Silversands/ and or Secrets" in just the regular Riviera Maya forum...I'll see if I can bump it up so it's easy to find...

There's a lot of info there (even though it's such a new thread!) -- but since we're getting married at about the same time, I'm sure we have a lot of the same questions...Anything I can help with, please just ask!!

Not another Canadian!! LOL My fiancé is from Canada too. Grew up in Manitoba and lived a while in Calgary.. His family is in AB and will be coming down!! LOL

Thanks for the info on the forum. I will check out the thread..

Here are some picture sites I found. None of them are of the wedding areas though.. I am dying to see what they look like so I can make a final decision for my reception… Most definitely keep in touch!! 

Yes -- we Canadians are everywhere:-)

That's funny -- you're marrying a Canadian and I'm marrying an American! lol.

I actually JUST saw those pics you posted on TripAdvisor yesterday...I think all us Secrets brides (and those THINKING about Secrets) are watching those TripAdvisor forums closely:-)

We're having our reception on the beach...if it rains, I don't know...I did see in one of those pics, the seaside restaurnt looks like an open air restaurant (covered by a large palapa)...so MAYBE that would be an option...

(I'll have tp e-mail Cecilia and ask...although it will probably take her a week to get back to me:-)) MAYBE she ca send some pics of possible locations if you ask...?

So funny! I checked out the same pics from baltobabe yesterday. You can get some great information on tripadvisor! We haven't booked our wedding yet because I can't seem to decide on The Grand or Secrets Maroma....I am going to have to make a pro/con list soon b/c every day I change my mind! I do have another question.....have you found any good designers for beach wedding dresses? I found a cute short one on maggie sottero - I'm thinking of going short b/c I want the wedding on the beach not a gazebo or inside (unless of course it rains) and I want to be barefoot in the sand or maybe some flipflops with fancy stones - LOL!

  • 2 months later...

Hey ladies!!! THIS Canadian bride (wow, sure are a lot of us) is getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach on Nov 5th! So I'm beating all of you... bad for me (I was moved last minute to Secrets from Dreams Tulum as they were shut down by the government) but good for you... I will do a write-up of the resort from a wedding perspective when I get back. I'm leaving in 3 days! Civil service is here in Vancouver (at the airport) on Nov 1st and then symbolic ceremony at Secrets on Nov. 5th.

Stay tuned!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
