Ettiquett in picking a new TA??

Recommended Posts

So the TA from my home area has taken 3 weeks to get back to me with a package for my guests, which I think is too long, also her rates are coming in high and she does not specialize in destination weddings and told me there is a fee for the guests to use her..... How do I go about picking a new TA? Can I have different TA's get me rates and go with the best one? Not sure how it all works, but I am looking for a TA who specializes in destnation weddings, has a website for guests to use, does not charge my guests and can give a good rate for a stay at the Palladium in RM including air..any help would be appreciated...thank you!

Hi Ashley,

I am using a TA through destinationweddings.com I think I got lucky- because some people seem to have a bad experience but she has been super fast at getting back to my emails (I'm talking like 10 minutes) and was helpful in helping me explore the area. Her name is Karyn Fallon and although I am not using their wedsite- it is available. We wanted to have our own and went that route. Check out the website and maybe you can request her- or PM me if you are interested and I will give you her info.

Having dealt with a very mediocre TA, I'd strongly suggest working with one from this site. The banner in the top right will point you to them. They are specialists in DWs, and they'll be able to find you the best deals around.

Hi Ashley,

My wedding is in 2 months and there is nothing more that I wish I would have done than to change my TA. I cannot even begin to list the problems I had with her. I recommend using a TA from this site. They know the deal and have experience in DW.

Wish I would have found this site a lot sooner!

Good luck planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
