flights from Cali

Recommended Posts

WOW! I am really getting concerned planning a June 09 wedding in cabo, with the price of flights. 530$ round trip from LA? Crazy when I can go next week for 230!

Any suggestions for my guests? Wait to book? Pick a different month? What have others paid this June?

Use a travel agent? Most guests will be flying out of LAX!

Thanks you all this site is so helpful!!

Just to give you an idea - My friend booked way back in April for $338. I've booked my brother's tickets two weeks ago for $353. My sister booked two months ago on cheaptickets (american) for $383.

I checked habitually on all days especially on Tues & Weds. I would go onto cheap tickets, if there rates were low, then I would go direct to American and check the price, apply my 10% and it worked out for me. I get married on Dec. 5th.

We are having this issue for April as well. Our family has used points to book to eliminate this, though tell them to book early as our LAX to SJD and SAN to SJD flights have already oversold on points tickets and Alaska has a few left but they went form 30kwhen we all booked last month to 60k now. I read on the news today that they are predicting flights to drop in early 2009, but there is no way to tell. You just have to cross your fingers that the people you really want to be there can use points or can afford it. We have one group of people in LA considering driving as it is a gorgeous drive! Good Luck

Has anyone looked into Mexicana or AeroMexico. I'm getting married next November so pricing on flights are not available at this time but I have been searching other dates just to get an idea. I noticed that there are not that many direct flights for LAX. I think AA had flights from LA over 6 hours. Is anyone else flying from LAX?

Have you checked American Airlines? They have CHEAP direct flights right now. Make sure when you go to their website, on the left hand side, click on "netsavvers & special offers", then "fare sale". As of this morning, the price (my wedding is in Dec.) is $299.13!! And my 10% discount makes it $279.13!! I wish I had not booked my entire family, but oh well! Hopefully you can get a good rate. PM if you want to use the 10% code. Good luck!

I'm getting married in May 2009 and have the same concerns about flight prices. Most are coming from Chicago. Those with miles and some family members have chosen to book now, but most are waiting as I think prices should go down. It seems to me the days of "the earlier you buy, the cheaper the ticket," are gone. I also regularly check on Tuesdays and Wednesday and for the past month the fares from LA and Chicago to Cabo have remained the same.

Have you tried Volaris? - Volaris

they fly from Tijuana but if your guests can make the 2 hour drive down from LA to the border sometimes it is worth it. We got a flight for New Years for $275 rountrip. Flights from LAX and San Diego on all the other airlines were $700 plus.

Also they have a shuttle from San Diego that brings you to the Tijuana airport so you don't have to park your car in TJ.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
