I always go WAY over board with groceries & am looking for ways to save!
Maybe I'll just search for coupons & start with that. If any fellow Canadians have any suggestions, please let me know!!! :)
The best suggestion I have (if you are ok with credit cards) is to get a Presidents Choice mastercard. We buy most of our groceries at Fortino's and we get various coupons via email or regular mail which gives us extra points for buying certain products (if you use you PC Mastercard) ie. 5 times the points for Blue Line Menu products or for using our own bags etc. We also get points for every $$ that we put on the card in other stores.

For the points you collect you get cash back, which you can use towards groceries, or gift certificates etc. Last year we got $170 back which I used in December to buy groceries at Christmas time. The card is free.

I swear by it because I don't have to remember coupons or go from store to store. I just take my coupons from my email flyer and they do the rest at the checkout.

Let me know if that wasn't too clear as I'm not too good at explaining these things.

Thanks Helen!! I know exactly what you're talking about! A girl at work does the same thing. DH is completely against cc's though! Well...he definitely wasn't before...hence our cc debt!! LOL But while we are trying to pay them off we don't want to have another one! Thanks for the suggestion though! Maybe once we get our cc's in order, then we can look at doing that! But we have an air miles cc that we use to get points, so having 2 points system cc's probably wouldn't work anyway!!

And Amanda I understand why you might be against it. It works for us because I hate having to remember coupons and what's on sale where. We always go to the same store for fruits and veggies anyway, so it makes sense to use a card that gives us something back. Between our PC Mastercard, Costco executive membership, Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum card, and Petro Canada points we got about $500 back last year.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
