Our package included the mariachi band, so we decided to have them play during the cocktail hour.

My Close friends had the Mariachi Band at their wedding and they played during dinner which was outdoors. They were AMAZING! There were like 10 Mariachis, I know they cost right around $1000, but they were WELL worth it, and they said they dont regret spending that much because they were great, they were a lot of them, and it was perfect.

        Sarah,

With the reception could people dance to the Mariachi Band? I'm debating between a DJ or Mariachi Band.

We are having a beach reception with about 25-30 guests.

For the mariachi band, she had hers during her outdoor private dinner. So I mean I guess we could of danced with them, but since we were eating no one did. They are more so for atmosphere and experience. I am most likely going to copy my close friend and do the Mariachis at dinner, and then a DJ for the reception because our friends like to dance and go crazy lol. Depending on how long your reception is, you could do both, or do the Mariachis then switch to an Ipod or something too.....I hope that helps.

We had our mariache start right after the ceremony and go through the cocktail hour. My husband and I went off to take photos during this time, but we took some photos with the band when we came back to the party. I think the mariache is a great way to get people into the mood! I think we paid around $900.

I'll attach one of my favorite pics with our wedding party & the mariache band!

Here are a couple pictures from my friends wedding, there were so many of them, and it was really great with them there in the background!

Great idea.  Thanks ladies.  I think we are going to get Mariachis to play during dinner.  I think we're going to do this instead of hiring a DJ. Our crowd isn't really the dancing crowd and we'll only have about 24 ppl total.

A Mariachi band is money well spent in our opinion! They add so much to the atmosphere of the wedding and you won't regret it! Definitely a great experience for the whole group :)
