Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

You know I wouldn't have EVER considered a bridcage veil. I mean, they look great on everyone I've seen them on but I could never imagine myself with one UNTIL I went in for my final fitting last week and we were trying on the regular veils and none of them were doing anything for me. My best friend just happened to pick up a birdcage veil and we fell in love with it! Its so cute. I like the look with it covering half of my face also. I don't know what it is about it but it just seemed so ME. I just wasn't sure about the hair down with it because everyone kept saying your hair has to be up to pull the birdcage veil off but with a sew in I doubt that's gonna be able to happen with me. Its good to see that I'm not the only one thinking of wearing my hair down with a bridcage veil.

Yes my date is getting here very fast! It was actually supposed to be on May 14th, but we decided to postpone b/c of the darn swine flu. I have lost a lot of my guests and people still have not re-booked their trip! This has been an emotional roller coaster but we still plan to have fun no matter who it there! That website took me to the buns so thanks Savannah!

Debra I had my final fitting on yesterday. I had already purchased my veil which i still plan to wear but I tried on a birdcage veil with this fabulous flower/feather piece and it was stunning! I can't wait to wear it!

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while... First off, Monique's ponytail looks so fab!!! And Petals you were definitely were working that birdcage, it looked so sophisticated and chic on you :)

Another option for those considering a sew in for their wedding look is to have the weave sewn in only in the back-middle portion of your head. That way, you have the smooth sleek look in the front and the weave hair gives you that added fullness and/or length where you need it in the back. This works pretty well for ponytails, and I'm sure it would help achieve a look similar to the Nia Long look that the lovely Monique is displaying.

I just can't make up my mind. My INITIAL plan was to go for long and loose...kinda wild, maybe with even some seed pearls scattered throughout. But then, my dress changed, and now I'm thinking I'll do that for my TTD session since my dress is more the romantic breezy kind for that. My ceremony gown is very elegant, so thats why I'm thinking of a side something or another with the birdcage veil.

Decisions, decisions.....

I initially thought that I would do a birdcage veil, but then I tried on a cathedral length veil w/ my dress and was completely sold... I just think that it will look so pretty blowing in the wind in pics!! But then again, just like you ladies I have a while to go so I may change my mind yet again :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
