Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I have been reading this thread and I know there was some talk and confusion to what a quick weave is. I am the self proclaimed "quick weaver of the world" lol So I just thought I'd post some pics of me and my quick weaves. They are extremely convenient when you don't feel like doing your hair and need something quick. And like Billysbride said they are very inexpensive and easy to use. They can be a little shiny at first but as she said once you lay on it a few days you'll be good to go. They also have human hair ones that you can curl and etc for about $40 as well as "lace front" quick weaves.

The last one is Super Shiny it was when I first got it.

Love the first and the third ones! I am a big Quik Weaver too...seriously, for situations like this (destination wedding trips) I think they are the way to go if you don't want to have to deal too heavily with your own hair. They get a bad rap because i think people assume they are heavy/hot...and they really ARE NOT. They are very open and breathable.

I'm gonna start accumulating month to month and doing some serious searching. If I'm able to find a wedding style that I like in a Quick Weave, I'm all over it. The versatility factor is just unmatched. To be able to go from curly, to straight, long to short in a matter of minutes and look amazing is exactly what I need to be focused on.

Exactly girl!! You are so right. Im thinking this will be the way I go becuz

1) I don't want to be tied down to one style for the entire vacay

2) I know I will be in the water alot and you know once you get the weave wet up its not as fresh anymore.

3) I can not let the salon do my hair! lol Idk I always have bad experiences at salons and end up wishing i just did my hair myself.

So I'll probably wear my natural hair during our stay and bring along my trusty flat irons to touch it up as i go along and just search around for a really cute quick weave (I'll even spring for an expensive one lol I'm so cheap) and when the day comes you have a beautiful hair do in about a half hour.

Ok so I think I've decided to go with a sew in. One of my bridesmaids is getting one and her beautician is supposed to be really good at doing them. She's getting her hair done some time next month so I'll be able to see how good her work is.

BillysBride, I may be enlisting your help when I decide what kind of hair I need to purchase but my mission now is finding a style because I have NO idea what kind of style I want. I think I need to just start looking at some styles and narrow it down that way. I know I don't want ANY hair in/on my face. I did want something kind of messy looking but then I got to thinking about the wind and the LAST thing I want is for my hair to get messed up before the day is over. I need to get to searching....and register for a photobucket account.

Trust me girl, I feel you!! I'm so clueless when it comes to weaves. I'm so used to wearing micros but I really don't want to go that route for the wedding. I had someone do a sew in for me...referred by a classmate and that was such a horrible experience.

My beautician cut and curled the braids for me in this pic but they were longer at first.

Ive decided to wear these as well :.) But make sure to use human hair so that it can be curled, styled, etc. They should give you a price break if you bring the hair yourself.

This is the look I'm going for, doesn't have to be exact and I may have the ponytail pinned up more for a tousled look.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
