Yes, I think that Im definitely want a partial but I might settle for a full just in case I get in the water.

Hi Ladies!!! I stumbled upon this thread over the weekend and have spent the last day & a half reading EVERY post (even the older thread)!!! Needless to say, I haven't done any work today! Everyone has been going straight to voicemail! LOL

First & foremost, thanks for all the comments & pics!!! I can't say how thrilled I am to know that I'm not the only one faced with this issue. You guys have some wonderful ideas & lots of knowledge.

I've worn my hair (relaxed) just pass my shoulders for about 5 years. Naturally, I got bored with it because there's but so many styles you can do... ponytails, drop curls, double twists, wrap, etc. I cut it into a bob last year for a change and now I wish I had the length (sigh). I'm in that 'in between' phase. It's not short & it's not long. It's just sorta there. lol

Right now, I have cornrows because I just couldn't handle doing my hair while working out regularly. 1 day in the gym and my hair looked like I never got it done (but, that's another topic in itself) !!! I usually get cornrows for tropical/beach vacations... so, in just about EVERY vacation pic, I have braids.... braided to the side, braided at an angle, braided into an updo... you get the point. I refuse to do braids for my wedding.

I've been having long conversations with my stylist (she's probably so sick of me) about my hair options for the past 6 months. She actually was going to attend the wedding, BUT her son's HS graduation is the same weekend (good for him, bad for me!). HA! We've narrowed it down to a full head sewn in weave with wet & wavy hair. I've never done a full head, just a couple of tracks here & there to get the 'full' look for special occasions.

Something for other brides to consider, my stylist suggested to carry a bun with me. She would 'create' it here and I could add it the day of the ceremony. All I would have to do is wash, pull my hair back & had some hair jewelry.

There are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many options!!! This thread is definitely proof of that. You guys really got me thinking long & hard about my decision.

I have to be honest with myself....

1. I have every intention of hitting the water the moment I arrive.

2. I arrive 4 days before the ceremony, so styling it before with hopes of it lasting til my wedding day is not going to happen.

3. I'm lazy!!!! LOL I don't want to be bothered with styling my hair every day (hats off to you ladies who have the skill to pull it off). I literally just want to get up & go.

BTW, I love the Nia Long pic... that's exactly what I had in mind. I've actually been looking for a similar magazine pic that I can take with me so that I can show the stylist at the salon.

DivaDivine - we have the same wedding date. It's crunch time. Gotta make a decision soon!

I like these! I actually wore something similar a couple of years ago..my first "micro" style. Damn that was a lot of work and sitting.

Problem is, they work best with shorter hair. I'd still have the problem of my ends sticking out of the braids and trying to blend them to match the extension hair. Not that big a deal maybe if you don't factor in water and humidity, but I like the wavy styles and I know my hair will not swing it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
