Check the airline ur using for specific amounts but it's really not a lot and there are rules about how it must be taken on...i htink in individual plastic baggies or something....
Yea, the travel guidelines for liquids are uniform across the board for all carriers. It's like 4 oz (or less) containers, and they have to be zip locked. I have tons of reusable plastic containers (the kind they sell in the travel aisle at like Walmart) and the only true liquids I gotta take is my shampoo/conditioner. If I take a liquid moisturizer or anything like that, I'll squeeze enough for a week into a travel sized bottle. I think as long as you transfer containers and take the travel sized versions, the liquid transport rule is the same across the board because of the security measures implemented after 9/11 unless something has changed since the last time I flew (November). I'll definitely check again for updates to that before we leave.

They even sell the airline approved baggies in the travel section at Wal-Mart so you can be sure you're getting the right size/type. They specifically say like "Travel size" and they are Zip Lock brand. You can buy the little empty containers for like .49 a piece in all different shapes for different uses (body wash, lotion, etc) in the same aisle..with all the little travel deodorants and hair sprays.

OK, we Mexico gals gotta stick together for real. lol

Are you at all worried about the wind?? I know like February- April (and even beyond) can be REALLY windy on Isla in particular...I'm starting to worry that whatever I do with my hair will be in vain because that wind will be whippin the snot out of it.

Maybe I should stick with long and loose....man, what to do??!!

That's something else I was thinking, I don't want my hair (or my dress) upstaging me smile and the joy that'll hopefully be radiating from my face.

Well I decided to do the whole destination thing because I wanted it to be carefree, fun, non-southern traditional, did I say fun. I want my dress, makeup, and hair to reflect my decision to be fun an carefree. I think if I pin my hair up and make it all nice and neat, it will take away from what I want to accomplish.

Somehow I have formed a email relationship with the lady I am booking my penthouse and rooms on the island. She live in the states, but goes to the island every couple of months. She is actually mailing me some brochures to give to my guest. But she says that May is the best month out of the year to go. Not too hot and not extremely windy. So, Savannah I might just do, long and loose with a flower. Don't know, not gonna worry too much about it.

Your face should really be the focal point anyway. I have seen some pics on here where the AA brides have let people who work in the little salon do there hair and make-up.... and they did not look natural at all. Just remember your face is just as important as your hair....nobody knows what you like more than you. Practice makes perfect....for your hair and make-up.

Sorry to vent, but it really bothers me when I see pics of brides where their hair is beautiful, dress is cute but their face looks like someone with NO idea what they were doing, did their make-up. And honestly just took away from the pictures.

lol...I NEVER let anybody but me do my hair OR my makeup. It started because I was broke, and even after I grew up and life changed I kept with it becuase over the years, I learned what worked best for me. I just don't feel comfy expecting someone who doesn't know me or has ever seen someone with EXACTLY my hair or skin tone doing my stuff for me. I have folks telling me "do the whole thing up right...relax, its your day" but...naaaah. lol

I started out with the idea of long and loose just because I love the contrast...this wild, carefree, sexily tossed kinda mane with this beautiful semi-formal gown. It's like the concept of TTD's to me...the contrast is gorgeous. I saw that one updo and it's made me consider it though, so I dunno. I probably won't decide til I'm down there. lol

SO glad to hear what you were told about Isla. I did as much of my own research as I could and landed in May but getting it from someone who lives there is soooo much better. We were trying to distance ourselves from the Easter/spring break crowds and do it before it got too far into the heat of the summer, so May just seemed logical. Glad we made the right call. I can't stand being hot..yea, I know. I'm takin my ass to Mexico and can't stand to be hot. Ridiculous. hah!

all i am looking for is something versatile and low maintenance that will last 2 weeks. i don't want my hair stuck in a bun or a ponytail. i really think braids are my only option b/c i have never done a weave and i don't want my wedding/ honeymoon to be my first experience with one.

Thats why you should get it done now and see if you like it. If you like it, go for it ,if not ,go with something you like and have tried. Like I'm planning to get a weave.. I normally wear weave but this time I 'm not going to let one of my girlfriends do it(even though she does a great job), I'm going to get it done professionally. If I don't like the way they do it then I will have to go back to the drawing board until I get it right or until they get it right.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
