Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

@Toiinlove: I think the braids may work best. There's more versatility and your hair will be protected. It's important to feel beautiful and comfortable on your day. You shouldn't be worrying if your tracks are showing, etc. If you get the micros, you can still curl, straighten, pony, leave it down, whatever in terms of styling. Also, the braids don't need to be braided all the way down (i.e. tree braids).

However, if you're still "toying" (sorry couldn't resist!) with the idea of a sew-in, may I suggest the invisible part technique? Research the two options, talk with your stylist about both, and hopefully that'll narrow it down for you.

All the best!

Have you considered a lace front wig??  They can offer many style options, you can use a curling iron and youâ€re not required you to wear your hair or edges out.  I wear them all the time and I don't glue it to my skin so I can take it off as often as I want.  One of my BM wears them as well and she gets them glued and I thought it looked great.  It didn't look like a lace front wig, it looked like she had a great weave.  So if youâ€re open to it I wore Model Model "Inspire" for my cousinâ€s wedding.  Here is a link to girl trying it on and to me it looks like a weave that is very versatile http://lacefronwigsandmore.blogspot.com/2011/03/model-modelss-inspire-ii-hello-all-this.html

Hope this helps!

SweetLe,

If you are not into weaves clip-ins are a great option. They are basically thin tracks attached to small clips. You clip them into your hair in the areas that you want to add length, thickness, or even color. When you are done with the style you take them out. There are a few youtube videos out there. Here is one.

Hope that helps.

I don't think a sew in will work for this, not sure if tracks glued in will be best-- and I've been reading about the clips, on here. But i don't really understand how they work.... Any advice would be great! Thanks.

I go in the morning to choose my hair and have my clip ins made. I am still on the fence about the length and color. I figure I should go long because I could always trim or cut them. I am really debating if I want highlights in them or just my natural hair color. So many decisions urrrggghh!!

Thanks for all the tips, ladies. I'm going to check our the clips on you tube (when I'm not at work :). I've had one sew in before-- and I felt like it just didn't blend well... not really sure I want to try that again. But I will keep my options open... I guess I need to make some appointments with my stylist to start experimenting!

@ Toiinlove, I would recommend a full sew in with a closure piece for the top.

I ordered Virgin Brazilian Wavy hair from www.demuretresses.com, and the price was more than Indian but it was definately worth it. When the hair is wet it has a beautiful wave, perfect for carefree honeymoon hair, and it can be flat ironed bone straight! There's no hair like it. I've used extensions plus in the past b/c the celebrities wear it, but it still looks weavy. But not the Brazilian hair Demure Tresses carries. It's truly virgin so it looks just like your real hair. People who don't know me don't even know I'm wearing extensions.

Using a closure will allow your stylist to braid all of your hair up and give you the freedom to part the hair down the middle on the side or cut some cute bangs into it.

You should check them out... their facebook page is off the chain... it's real photos of real women wearing their hair. www.facebook.com/demuretresses

Take it from me, Full sew-in with Virgin Brazilian Extensions with a Closure to match!

Or, maybe get a full sew-in with no hair left out.  If you are okay with a bang, or allowing it to fall to the sides, you could still get a full sew-in and not have to leave any hair out.

Hey Brown Barbie,

I was totally set on the micro braids but my mother and fiance are totally against it. I actually found someone close to me that does a wonderful sew-in with a closure and her work looks great. I think I am going to do a trail run with her with regular virgin Indian hair and then use the Virgin Brazilian Wavy hair for the wedding. Thanks so much ladies for all your support!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
