For some it doesn't make their hair bone straight when in contact with water (like a bone straight perm does) but it makes it way easier to straighten, stay straight longer, and loosens the curl pattern when the hair gets wet.
Nope havenâ€t done it before… Iâ€m natural but the fiancé wants me to get a perm and I know I wont do that so I figure this is the next best thing….Iâ€m thinking of doing it right before I go maybe late sept or oct… I was thinking of getting it done early but at the same time I want it to be a complete surprise for him. Heâ€s probably going to JA before me because he has family there so I was thinking Iâ€d get it done then… Iâ€m still debating this though… because I also think that I wanna know what the effect is going to be on my own hair and if it will take… ugh the choices us brides have to make… itâ€s so stressful.

Heartbeat, I read that you were natural. How do you plan on styling your hair for ur day? I think the best part of this DW planning is being natural and not having to worry about my hair. I think I wont to wear to wear it in an updo with an orchid in it somewhere. Natural hair is so versatile. You don't have to get a perm to get it bone straight, just get a dominican blowout before. It will give your hair that perm look without having to put the "creamy crack" back in your hair.

I got my info from Long Hair Care Forum, just do a search and it should come up.

I actually got BKT last year. I got one with no formaldahyde. I liked it alot. You do get it done over your relaxer/perm and it lasted about 4-5months. It mademy hair more manageable (I never wash my own hair at home because to blow dry it out after is a nightmare, with BKT I was able to wash and go...it would dry semi straight and if I needed to I would use a flat iron or blow dryer for the sleek look). For the most part I did it cause it is so humid in Miami that during the summer it is impossible to go out and keep you hair looking great without a lot of hairspray or mousse or something and since I hate using hair products (it weighs my hair down and irritates my acne) I opted for BKT. I won't be getting it done prior to my wedding because I know just how straight it leaves my hair from prior experience and I am opting for curls in my hair for my wedding, and curls already fall out easily so I know with the BKT in it won't stay at all.

Of course this all depends on your hair type too. My friend did her'sthe same time as me. She has a slightly different texture to her hair and though the BKT made her hair smooth and silky she felt hers wasn't as straight as mine, hers more kept from frizzing but she was still able to hold curls.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
