Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Mrs. Shoreytobe,

The dancefloor will not fit where the tables &  chairs are located in the Chillout - what they did for us was set it up in front of the club. You probably can't see it in our photos because of the angles they are taken on, but if you check out the photo of the front of the Chill Out you can get an idea of how it might look (and they actually dug into the sand so that the dancefloor was level with the ground - which I loved). Additional, more casual seating was provided around the dancefloor for those who needed a break.

I read through the other posts and noticed that you are considering the Sunset Gazebo. It is definitely more private than the Grand Riviera Gazebo and an added bonus, if you book the Chill Out, is that it is actually located right next door.

Kind Regards,

Koren

Mrs Shoreytobe,

When I read your post I was picturing the dancefloor up in the seating area in addition to your other tables. On second thought, you could probably fit it there, but it means that your guests' tables would be further away from you. I'm not sure if you've seen the layout to the Chill Out, but typically there are a couple of tables near the headtable, and then if you require them, additional tables are placed in the attached gazebo-like decks off the main deck. Sorry for any confusion!

Cheers,

Koren

Hi There, We just received the first glimpse of our photos, some of which include pictures of the Chill Out lounge. I would highly recommend the chill out package - the venue, the food, the ambiance -- everything about it was wonderful -- and worth the price. If you'd like to take a look, our slideshow is up on the photographers' website: http://delsolphotography.com/riviera-maya-wedding-grand-sunset-princess-kc-05082013/  And on that note, if anyone is looking for a photographer, Del Sol was amazing to work with. They have a number of talented photographers, and we went with Juan. He was absolutely fantastic! Best of luck with your planning! Koren
Thank you for sharing your amazing pictures! I am getting married on jan 15th, 2014 in the riviera gazebo as well with a beach reception (outside of the chill out lounge) and your pics really help to visualize everything! Thank you again :)

Has anyone had a wedding/is anyone plannig one where u ARE NOT using the chill out lounge and instead using the restaurant dinner that is included in the wedding packages? If so, did u organize a dance floor party somewhere after the dinner in the restaurant? I would love to have dinner and reception party in CO lounge but 100 per person will be too much for us (with around 40-50 guests). My hope though is that we would still be able to have a dance after the restaurant dinner, so if any of you have organized this instead of chill out lounge for whole night, plz share :) THANKS!

There is a possibility of having a private beach cocktail/reception after the dinner....but I am unsure how much it cost....if you read back several brides have opted for that options.

best of luck.

Hi there,

We are getting married in July and are doing dinner at "La Vaquera" (spelling???) followed by a cocktail reception on the beach.  It cost $25/person for 2 hours.  We also are paying $560 for the audio equipment for this time, which includes an IPOD hook up.  We were just going to bring our own but we were worried it might not be loud enough for the beach so decided to pay the extra money.

I like that this gazebo seems more private. Do you have to pay for them to add the white fabric at the front? I think I want the fabric but will try to save on cost of flowers.
The fabric comes with the rental of the sunset gazebo. The flower decorations on the gazebo may be included in your package depending upon which one you get. I kind of like the look of the gazebo without the decorations as seen here: http://www.weareyourphotogs.com/5322/we-are-jen-jean-claude-pt-1 These pictures are some of the bet I have seen of the location. It really gives you a good idea of the event space. If you rent the sound system I believe there is an option for an iPod dock but they suggest you back up your playlist on cd just in case. We are getting married in November and we chose this location with reception at the chill out lounge. We have been to this resort and absolutely loved it. The chill out lounge is worth the extra money if you are havin trouble deciding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
