I hear you on that! Emma is my WC as well and she has told me nothing but bad news. She first told me that I wasnt allowed to have a buffett meal in the gala room, which was confirmed with Elizabeth. SHe said that we have to choose from the gala menu which we dont really like at all. I dont know why its such a big deal to have a buffett in a gala room? Then she tells me that i have to change the time of my ceremony, which isnt a huge deal but why the change? And then she also tells me that we cant use the dinner that is provided in the package as a rehersal dinner either!! Why is all this changing, when we were told different??!!  Im wondering if i should change my package now too? Why pay for all these features if we cant even use them.. right?  But i have over 40 ppl coming so its nice to have the larger cake, the cocktail hour and the other extras it includes. What are you going to do?? Are you going to keep the same package?

Also, what are you doing for music.. DJ or audio system? I heard the DJ isnt that good. I dont know what to do???

Can I ask what brand your Bridesmaid dresses are? The color is fantastic and I have been looking for pink/fuchsia dresses for a month with no such luck.

It's so great to read that your wedding went so well and it gives me some confidence that in the end everything will work out great!   I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack because of that HUGE amount of  incompetence  displayed by my wedding coordinator Emma.  She  just informed me last night via email that we could no longer have a rehearsal dinner any more even though we already have a contract with the Rehearsal dinner in it!  We have already sent out invitations to invite all of our guests to this event and now she is saying it can't be done!  It's inexcusable how flaky and inconsistent the Wedding Coordinators are at GSP.

The saving grace though is to hear how amazing things actually go once your wedding day arrives!  THANK YOU so much for posting the pics and if you have any more tips, let us know because there are alot of anxiety ridden GSP Brides out there! :)

I had to keep emailing.   The WC and accounting dept are not in communication.  I even had to fax my confirmation of transfer from my bank AGAIN.  Good thing I have a wedding planner here that had her staff call that spoke Spanish to clean things up.  We had to sit for at least 3 weeks after we sent in our deposit!!  Its frustration....I realise my wedding isn't immediate but you still want to plan ur budget!

I am just hoping that everything will come together when we get there..... Flying on Sunday!! Yippeeee!!!!!!!!! it's a 9 hr flight for us so the time difference will probably affect us as we arrive 2pm Mexico time but it will be 8pm our time and we are up at 5 in the morning..... I'll just have to relax by the pool lol x  What date are you arriving there???? I really hope that your travel agent can sort out the time for you hun it's really unfair for them to do this to you now...... Have they given you a reason for the time change??? Wishing you luck to sort this out hun xxx Plans are coming along fine to be honest... Going to pack tomorrow night even thought we are flying on Sun, we are going by train to the airport on Sat and sleeping in a hotel by the airport as it is an early flight and it is a 5 hr drive to the airport for us as we are from South Wales and flying from Gatwick in London.

Hi Kelly,

It took us a few weeks to get the confirmation back and the deposit was taken shortly thereafter.  My best advice is to use your travel agent when you need to.  The WC seem to respond to them faster and they are your best advocate for getting things done!

Good luck and best wishes.

hello!

tomorrow is your big day! hope everything went perfectly well for you!
i have the same problems with Emma: she NEVER answers my emails. i had to call 4 times to mexico in order to confirm the date. she told me she would send me an email to confirm the credit card deposit on the 12th but still nothing!! would you please tell me how it went for you... i heard that communications are very bad but once you're there, everything goes well!! i'm still worried about all this even if my wedding is only in 5 months, in march....

hope to hear from you !!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
