Grand Sunset Princess Resort

HI Vancity

I thought the day pas was suppose to be 85$ per person not staying at the resort?

It's weird I have Elizabeth as WP and the prices she gives me are not the price listed on their price sheet. She's trying to charge be 12.50$/person per HOUR for the domestic bar while it states on the list it's 10$ flat per person. I don't know what to do now since it's double the budget we have for the bar.

Any suggestions?

I found a photobooth our there for a good price, and I message elizabeth asking if it was ok if it came on the resort property and she told me that it would be $100 per person!! Im hoping she is referring to a day pass for the phtobooth assistant and not $100 per person for all my guests. That confused me. Then I asked if there would be champagne included after the ceremony and she said that its $10/per person. Im starting to see that they charge you for everything. I was at a wedding the Domincan last year and they were so good about things like that. Its making me frusterated.  How is your planning coming along. have you had any issues with this kind of stuff??

Yah i know im starting to get some different pricing as well. I was told that for the itialian buffet with domestic open bar in a gala room was $70/per person and now she is telling me that it is $92 per person?? I am not liking it either. So i emailed her asking why the price change and now im waiting for her response. Cause $92/pp is a little much. How is the rest of your planning coming?? WHen  is you wedding date??

I have about 1 month and 2 weeks left till my wedding!!!. I also have been quoted a ton of different prices. I also was told that the gazebo would not fit 30 people . So elizabeth said that when i get there that i can decide at that point if i want the gazebo or the beach. It has been difficult corresponding only through email. I cant wait to see her so i can talk about everything. I was going to do the gala room but decided to do cocktails on the beach.

Wow.. its getting close!! And thats strange about the gazebo I was told that max was 50 ppl. Weird!  I know it is definitley getting difficult planning a wedding through email, but it will all work out. Where are you have your reception?  Are you doing a dinner? How many ppl do you have attending?

Hi There,

We have just booked our date for April 2012, and we are dealing with Angelina at the resort. What I can tell you is depending on the pacakge you go with it includes all food and drinks for a certain amount of people like cake, champagne etc., anyone over the 20 or 40 guests you pay additional $12 per person for the same. You should have a price list for additional items that is not included in package or if you are not chosing a package you can build your own paackage from price list and just add up all $$$. The only question I now have is if you want a beach party or chill out private party is the $85 or $100 above the cost of package per person. My daughter is arriving on the 11th and getting married on the 16th Sunset Gazebo we have had to pay the $200 up front to reserve the day and we had to pay our travel agent $300 to reserve 30 spots at the hotel for 90 days so our guests now have upto 90 days to pay their deposit of $150 each person. If you have any questions at all that I can help you with email me. When are you getting married ?

Were dealing with Elizabeth and she has been great, my problem is were going to have probally just over 45 guests with us so I went with the gala dinner. I was told it was $75/pp and now im being told its $92/pp. I always wanted to do the reception outside just cause i dont want it to be muggy at night and be sweaty, and this make me feel like im still having a traditonal wedding, somewhat. I looked into trying to build my own package but there were things that i wanted that would of ended up costing the same. I just keep telling myself that even though it may seem like alot of money, were still saving sooo much by doing a destination wedding. We actually in the process of booking out trips now too. Its pretty much the same for us. We have to pay $200 deposit and then pay the rest in February 2012. Our wedding datw is APril 25, 2012 (So will just mis eachother) and we also had to pay $200 for the wedding date.  Now its starting to get a little stressful with all the details being made and the money being spent. But i now that it will all be worth it. Im actually just in the process of booking my photographer, hair and mkae up artist and photobooth.

What have you guys decided for your dinner plans?

So what i want to do is do dancing and cocktails on the beach. I want to do mamma mia for dinner and i am waiting for a response to see if we can do just the dancing and cocktails on the beach. Also i am waiting to hear if we can get the dj to be on the beach. I always wanted to do this on the beach. I am starting to have last min anxiety beacuse i feel like i dont have anything set for a reception. hopefully i will hear from Elizabeth soon. As for the gazebo i cant believe 50 people can fit she told me that people would have to sit outside the gazebo because they wouldnt fit. She told me that i can pick when i get there a couple days earlier. So we will see.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
