Thanks for all the information!  I'm getting married at GRP in April and having our reception at Mamma Mia as well.  Just wondering if you could PM me some pics of the restaurant.  When I 'google' it there seems to be 2 different pictures that come up.  They don't look very similar so it's hard to believe that they are the same restaurant.

Of course, I can't seem to get any answers from our WC, Alejandra.  I emailed her on Jan 5th and still have not heard back from her.  SO FRUSTRATING!!

My guess is that you stayed on the 'Sunset' side in Platinum... Did you happen to notice how the construction on the 'Riviera' side is coming along?  Many of our guests are booked in Platinum suites as well and I've heard that the pools are closed in that area along with the Platinum Lounge, of course.  I'm waiting to hear back from my travel provider to see what the status will be by the time we arrive as I don't feel it's fair that we've been charged the full amount for these rooms if all the amenities are not available.

My email address is lraible@hotmail.com.  Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

I wish you all the best!!

Leanne.

When I'm on my home comp I'll post pics of Mama Mia, the seafood restaurant, Hacienda, and I don't think I got any shots of Miso but will check as well.  I don't think you will see any signs of construction from anywhere on the Sunset side.  None of us did, although none of us stayed on the riviera side either.

Hello |

Leanne

I am also getting married at the GSP in April!!  When is your date?  Have you had any luck thus far with the WC?  I have been patiently waiting for my contract which she has not yet sent.

Have you heard anything further as to whether we'll be able to use the gazebo in April??   Here's to hoping!

All the best and thanks for any feedback you can give!  This forum is so AMAZING!!  Thanks for all of the tips everyone!!

Hey Denise!

My wedding is on April 7th.  We arrive on the 1 and will be staying for 10 days.  I can't believe it's only 2 1/2 months away!!

Do you have a Destination Wedding Planner/Travel Agent that you are dealing with at home?  If so, I'd recommend them contacting the resort on your behalf.  That's what I did and finally got some answers yesterday.

Still waiting to hear if the Gazebo will be open by April... this is a major factor in why we picked this resort.  I was so stoked to have the ceremony there!  I did receive and email showing the alternate sites... but I'm not super impressed by them.

The first set of pics is the one they've set up near the Thai Beach Club restaurant... the second set is near the Laguna Villa Suites

Back_up_laguna_riviera_Princess.pdf I've you'd like, PM me and I will keep you posted with any emails I recieve that I think would help you out.  I know how frustrating it can be to not have answers.  Yesterday, I saw a little bit of 'Bridezilla' come out!   Take care!

Gujarwala, thanks for all your postings. can you send me pictures of the hacienda welcome dinner? I am planning on doing the same at that restaurant. I am taking 40 ppl down with me for my April 29, 2011 wedding. I can not believe the gazebo is not in use, that ticks me off. Like everyone else, that was half the reason why I chose this place. I too have not heard back from that wedding coordinator. Everything does not seem very organized, I know they are busy but come on. Any pictures you have of the resort, I would love to see. My email is lamon006@gmail.com. Thanks so much and congrats!

Laura

Hello lea_rai,

Those are the options available instead of the gazebo? Do you know if they are at an additional cost? I don't mind the first one that is set up by the Thai Beach Club. It looks nice and it would still give me the option of wearing my shoes. haha! Has any one getting married in April received notification from the WC's? I haven't received a reply yet. I am going to see my TA on Monday and hopefully she will have better luck.

Yup... those are the options.  If anything, they should deduct some $$ from the cost of the wedding.  I guess the Yuppa will have to do but it just breaks my heart that the Gazebo may not be available.  It was one of the main reasons we chose this resort in the first place.  I've seen so many pro photos with the Gazebo and they are simply amazing.  Fingers crossed that it will be available.  I have been told by Alejandra, our WC, that it might be by April.  They aren't guaranteeing it tho. :(

I would highly recommend getting your TA to contact them.  Mine was on the phone to the Head of Sales at the resort.  I think her name is Azalea.

I just got my contract today... but there is a big difference between the cost of the package on one page, then it's $500 more on another page.  I'm still waiting to hear if it's still $2000 like I thought.  We decieded on the 'Royalty' Package as we have about 40 ppl.  Have you been given any prices yet?

I've you'd like, PM me with your email address and I'll send you any info you like.

Cheers!

Hey all,

We are new to this forum. Hopefully this post works. We are getting married at the GSP dec 8/11. We are hoping some of the other members on here could send us some information and pictures on wedding. We stayed at the GSP last new years and the resort was great. However when we were there we didn't look at anything to do with weddings.

We would like to get married on the beach and also have our reception on the beach. We should have about 40+ people going. If anyone could pass on some information and some prices and just some general advice we would be super super grateful.

Feel free to forward any info to us at adam.herman@xplornet.ca and thanks in advance!

Thanks alot,

Adam and Ashley

If you look above at my earlier post... it's the second set of pictures. It's a small covered area near the Laguna Villa Suites. Doesn't look like you can fit very many ppl in there tho.

    • It’s been years... and I’m now searching for the same in Montego Bay or Negril. Did anyone ever have any luck finding?
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
