Hey Luli! I definitely suggest seeking out brides who are getting married at/around the same time as you and sharing a photographer! I managed to link up with another girl and, together, could afford to bring someone along! Managed to add one more bride to the mix later on as well! This was huge cost savings, plus the photog got three destination weddings to add to her portfolio!

As I recall, the resort photographer was horribly overpriced and the photos would be unedited.

Hi,

I just booked our wedding date of January 19, 2011.

I have a question for you regarding Thai Beach Club for reception. The price I was quoted was $45/person. I have read great reviews regarding the food. Has anyone seen any pictures of the club and do you know if there is a bar there and is it included in the price? I cannot decide if I should go ala carte route or something more private like tha Thai Beach club. Our party will be around 20 people only .

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Margret

Hi Margret,

I believe the price you were quoted was for the semi private option at the Thai Beach Club, I think you have your choice of beef or fish? As for deciding which to do, thats a personal one since it has a fairly large price tag attached to it. We have decided on Thai Beach Club but as a private reception (after much back and forth) and can send you some pics if you pm me your email address :)

Hi ladies :) I've booked our wedding date (December 16, 2010), and sent our deposit. Patricia sent my travel agent information about wedding packages and reception options, should I be booking my reception now, or wait until I have a better idea of how many guests will be coming? Has anyone who is booked around then already told the resort what reception they want?

I'm getting married in April and only just within the last 2 weeks sent the resort my choices. It's up to you if you want something specific and want to gurantee it, otherwise the resort doesnt need it yet

There is a limit of 20 to 25 people for the Thai Beach Club. I have about 20 which would work for me. I am afraid of how cool it can get in January at night and I am not sure if the price include alcoholic beverages. When I asked Patricia in the email she said it includes beverages....alcoholic or regular beverages. I need to ask her again. I know the resorts are known for suprises when it comes to the bill.

The other negative side is that there is the time limitation as well. You have only 1.5 to 2 hrs, the same as in ala carte restaurant. I am not decided which route I should go. Any advice on the restaurants? which ones would have the ambiance for the dinner?

Thanks

I think that you're quoting the semi-private option. As for the private you have to have a minimum of 40 and you have it from 6-10PM

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
