Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hii,

Im so happy to hear that everything went well. I know there are going to be ups and down, but in the end its going to be great.

Thank you for the tip about the outside vendors. I have already told Emma that I have an outside makeup artist coming in, But i will just mention that there friends of ours that live there in mexico..hehehe

You said you did the renewal of vows ceremony.. Was that because you got legally married at home? How was the ceremony.. Did it look the same as a real legal wedding?

Emma suggested we do the symbolic ceremony.. What is the difference? We are getting legally married here in Canada first.. What ceremony do you suggest?

Also, What room did you stay in? Did you get a different room the morning of the wedding?

How long is the walk from the lobby to the beach? Is it really as far as ppl say??

Thanks :)

Hey Vancity Bride,

I was at the resort almost two years ago and, yes, it is a big resort.  From the beach to the lobby area where most of the restaurants are, it is about a 7 minute walk at a fairly slow pace.  (I timed it because sooooooo many people were complaining about it)  There is a golf cart train (for lack of a name of it) that runs along both sides of the Grand Sunset/Grand Riviera resorts every 10 or 15 minutes and there are elevators.  I personally enjoyed the walk and we were in the Platinum section by the beach which is furthest away from the lobby, etc.  There are artistic statues and gorgeous plant life along the walkways, so it is enjoyable.  The walkways running through the resort grounds are cement like sidewalks...the walkways in the lobbies, open area by the restaurants, hallways in the buildings and in the rooms are marble.  Yes, they are slippery when wet, but so are wet floors at the shopping mall.

You are going to have a beautiful day at a gorgeous resort marrying the man you love. Focus on that and worry about the rest as it comes up. You can change everything once you are there meeting with the coordinator.

Have a fab day,

Lisa

Thank you. I know your right..its all going to work out no matter what. Im starting to relax a bit more seeing that the reviews are good and everyone seems to have a wonderful time. There were a few gliches dealing with Emma, but I know that its not her fault.

I just came back from my vacation/wedding from the Sunset Princess resort and I have to say everything was perfect! Emma was my WC and even though she was unresponsive with emails and claimed she didn't receive emails I sent to her, everything turned out beautiful. I used an outside photographer and had to pay additional $60 for a day pass for her but it was worth it! For all you nervous brides the best adivse I can give you is that the WC at Grand Sunset Princess know there stuff! However, question everything. Emma made my hair and makeup appointment for the day before my wedding. By chance I stopped in at the salon and corrected the mistake. They made my day stress free and perfect! I only had 8 months to plan my big day!

I had my wedding on the beach at the Chill Out resturant which was perfect because I spent most of my days there anyways. I got to know the wait staff (Marcos) and the bartender (Manuel) and they where a lot of fun. Our reception was at the mexican resturant (Hacienda) and it too was perfect! Again the waitstaff was really attentive and made it a special night! They where a little surprised when we showed up in jeans. After the wedding our photographer (Take It Foto) got a little carried away with our eagerness to get the perfect shot. Needless to say that after the photo shoot, both myself and my new husband where completeley soaked and decided to show up to reception in jeans! It was quite funny to see everyone's expression!

As I said before, the day and night was perfect. I met with WC once three days before wedding and didn't worry about a thing!

Hi there....I am getting married at the Grand Princess on May 17 2012. I just stumbled across this site and am so excited to be able to talk to other brides who are planning their wedding and who have already been married there!!

Just wondering if anyone has had the reception included in the package at one of the restaurants? If you choose that route is there somewhere you can go afterwards for dancing? Also, are the tables in the restaurant decorated?

Also, has anyone had the private beach reception??

I would love to have the Chill Out reception but seems a bit pricey considering a reception is already included in the package....

Any advice and pictures would be great!! :)

I just got an email from the wc for party on the beach.  There are 3 options : Open Bar Premium $38 per person; International Open Bar $32 per person; and Domestic Open Bar $25 pp. Otherwise, a hall can be rented for $200.   On top of that you still need to rent audio equipment.  If you want the details on the breakdown of the selection pm me your email address.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
