Hi akelly!

No we had no problems booking for the 23rd. We just had our travel agent take care of all of the booking details. I believe the day you land counts as a day.

Hi girls!

For the girls who got married at this resort, can you please tell me:

1) what cake flavours did you choose? I am thinking of the "smoothie milk" flavour, but do you know what this is? Is it like a tres leches cake?

2) what is your favourite and the best restaurant on the resort.

any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

WARNING!! I heard from Patricia today, after sending her my ala carte preference and # of guests. We've currently got 41 booked, and perhaps a few straglers. She responded by saying, "About the guests, i remind you that our a la carte restaurants are not that big, we can`t fit that many people in the seating, the maximun are 40, so the 41 are ok. But my suggestion it`s to go for a private reception, it`s better for you because it`s more tiem and better service. I`m sending you the info."

'The Info' tells me that a private reception in a banquet hall starts at $35/plate and on the beach $85 per person! This is NOT in our budget, so I wrote back and told her this is the first I've heard of a limit, and we have not budgeted for it. I offered to change restarants if she thinks there is one a bit bigger to accommodate us.

I'm really hoping that she's just trying to sell me on spending more $$ at the resort and that this is not going to be an issue!!! I will keep you all posted on how it pans out! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hi all, My fiance and I will most likely be getting married at this resort in August 2010. We have recieved a quote from Calgary double occupancy of $1734 Canadian, has anyone else recieved quotes for this time of year?? If anyone has any 2010 pricing they can share that would be super helpful as the website still has 2009 prices up (packages, extras, photo packages, cakes, flowers etc). I was hoping for a reception outside but it looks like that wont be an option as we will only have approx 20 guests attending and the beach party has a min of 40 guests. Any pictures anyone would be willing to send me would also be very much appreciated. I like the gazebo but was wondering if it has to have the red carpet, i deffinatley do not want a carpet on the aisle.

Any other advice anyone has would be super appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nadine

I'm having the same problem. I have Feb. 27th, 2010 booked and now, 6 months before, I just found out that if we have over the 40 limit, (we have about 70 people saying they are going to come right now); they are telling us we have to do a beach reception. (Which the prices drastically went up from the 2009 prices.) So I have no idea what I'm going to do... that is completely out of my budget as well.
I'd love to hear if you find a loophole to this people limit...

We had decided to have the beach party when we booked earlier this year for this November.

They just sent me all of the new information and forms to fill out. I was surprised when I saw the prices had all gone up. So, I e-mailed asking if they were going to give me the original pricing and they have agreed to honour the price and package we were originally quoted which was $80 a person.

I think the pricing has just gone up recently, so if you did book before they raised them, maybe they will do the same for you.

Patricia got back to me and, after "speaking with her manager" they've agreed to let me have my dinner in an ala carte. But they've got to put us in the Fondue restaurant, which wasn't my first choice. Oh well, fondue can be a lot of fun, I'll just have to be careful not to get it all over my dress! I'm more relieved than pissed at this point, but I'm not so sure my fiance is going to feel the same way.

She did say that if no more book and we've got 41, they will let us stick with our first choice, but I really can't make her any garauntees, so I think I'm better off just committing to the fondue.

alopez, there is another option of a banquet hall dinner, where you'd get the whole hall to yourselves. This starts around $35/plate, which at the very least is more affordable than $85 for a beach reception!! If I were you, I wouldn't panick just yet... lots of people have great intentions of coming, but as the time closes in they realize they don't have the time/resources to go. So you may be down to a managable number by the actual wedding date, and perhaps you can convince them to accommodate you with a few extra...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
