Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Jennifer,

I can't answer all your questions but I do know that included in the wedding packages is dinner at one of the al a carte restaurants for up to 20 people. It's $10 extra per person over that. It's not private but from what I've heard they give you a nice spot for all your party to sit together away from everyone. The only thing with this is you have to choose either 6pm or 9pm for dinner and it has to be a set menu for everyone. We're doing this and having it at LaHacienda. We're just going to get fajitas since most people would like those.

Hi,

I am new to the site and also considering this hotel for my wedding in January 2010. Are there any Canadian brides out there who held there wedding here who can recommend a good travel agent? All the quotes we have had back so far have been way too high!

Hey Llama - our group few out from Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Edmonton and we ended up paying about $1900-$2150 each, which was apparently a good deal!!

On the other hand, the resort and wedding coordinator Diana were excellent and we had an amazing wedding there! One thing to check out is pricing for the GrandRiviera Princess - its the same resort as the princess - shares pools, restaurants, wedding sites etc - I think the only difference is that the Riviera side is a couple years older.

Wedding packages are a bit pricey at this resort and I heard that they went up for 2009!

Good luck and happy planning!

Hi Llama,

I am leaving for my wedding down to GSP in 10 days now! We are also leaving from Canada, one plane from Montreal and one plane from Halifax and we actually had a VERY good price. I booked with itravel2000.com and we got it for $1300 per person taxes and fees included. The prices vary depending on when you want to go... depending if it's during peak season or not.

The wedding packages for 2009 are around $1500 to $2000 USD depending on what you are looking for. Let me know if you want me to send you more info.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
