Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am getting married at the GSP in April and I am also going to be doing the legal paperowrk in Canada before we go... I chose the Religious Princess Ceremony as opposed to the vow renewal because I was told from the Wedding Coordinator that the Religious was really a full wedding ceremony just not technically "legal" in Mexico. My fiance and I really wanted to make sure it was an actual wedding ceremony and not a renewal because we're really considering the day in Mexico to be our wedding day, not the day of the legal papers... And we didn't want any mention of vow renewal in the ceremony.... The resort created that "Religious Ceremony" for that purpose... But Courtney can really give you more insight as she already did her ceremony there. Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

After reading all of your posts, I havent seen anything about pricing for this resort. I am a Toronto Bride considering GR Sunset for Jan 2010. The quotes i am getting are very unreasonable...do you remember when you got your quotes prior to booking and what they were? Did you end up choosing the TA quotes in the end? Im really lost with this stuff and prices for wedding next year at 4-5 * resorts are over 2000.00 pp. Are the Canadian brides seeing the same trends?? You would think with the economy, prices would decrease? If you have any insight for me that would be great, either as a reply or PM.

Thanks,

Shelly

Hi Shelly,

I am still part of this thread even though my fiance and I decided to not get married at this resort. Our wedding is this Novemeber 2009 and the quotes we got back a few months ago for this resort was under $1400.00 all taxes in. This pricing was given to us in Dec 2008. I am a bride from Guelph Ontario. I find that insane the pricing you mentioned above for this resort especially for January. Plus it is just a few months after us your wedding. We are actually getting married at the Grand Palladium resort this November 2009 and out price is under $1500.00 all included.

I can give you my travel agent if you like. She is great to deal with. She is located in Guelph.

Let me know ad I know it can be frustrating trying to get a good rate for your guests.

Take care,

Candice

Hey all,

So my wedding is quickly approaching: June 19, 2009!! And I still have soooo many questions and things I need to figure out so I'm hoping you guys can help. Here are a few:

1) What does GSP offer for center pieces? Does someone have pictures they could send me?

2) What sorts of flowers do they have to choose from? Pictures would be great.

3) Can you change the color of the chair covers or at least the bow on the chair covers?

4) Has anyone done the private beach reception? I've asked before, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask again. I would LOVE to hear any and all feedback about it.

5) Do they offer other dessert option besides cake? I would love to have a spread of traditional Mexican desserts...does anyone know if there's flexibility there?

Any and all help, feedback, etc would be awesome!! Thanks so much girls....

Colleen

I am trying to pick an a la carte resturante for the reception. I have narrowed it down to Mamma Mia, becuase everyone likes pasta, Le Flur, seem exotic, and La Vaqueria. Has anyone ate at these resturantes? If so, which one is the best? Remember, we need something that will suite everyones needs.

Hi Everybody,

I am getting married at the Grand Sunset Princess on November 18, 2009.

Haven't received any info from Diana the WC yet. Just wondering if anybody had pictures they would like to share from the reception. We plan on getting married in the gazebo; my only concern is for our reception. Can it be private without paying for the private beach reception? This went up in cost for 2009.

How much does it cost to get a sound system and dj? Can the reception go on longer than 11pm? I have soo many questions!!!!

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
