Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hi Courtney!

Thanks again, I spoke with Damares last night and she sent me the new packages listings for 2009... a lil more expensive but they have a nice option for Symbolic weddings without the legal part which I'm going for... I do not have the prices for extras yet or the menus so if you could send that to me that would be great! My email is valerie.normand@gmail.com.

So when is your wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess?

PrincessVal, I haven't chosen a package yet, but we are definitely getting legally married here before we go. And I just found out earlier this week that one of my bridesmaids and some family have major conflicts that weekend! So now I am looking at the May 28th weekend. Nothing is set in stone but I will keep you posted! I thought a DW was going to be easy to plan! HAHA. If we keep the 25th that would be such a small world and we would have to meet! How are your plans going? What package did you go with?

Just wondering what details you guys have had to confirm with Damarys before arriving? So far she's only had me pick the type of ceremony and time and also the restaurant and dinner time. Is there anything else that you are booking ahead of time (flowers? cake?) or is this all chosen when we get there?

Hi Ashleigh,

Glad to hear that everything is working out for! Evrything is falling into place for me to, we confirmed the date, we'll be gettingmarried on April 29th at 6h00pm... the sun will be just starting to set at that time and it will "cool" off a lil bit (it's still gonna be around 35C but at least it shouldn't be around 40C anymore... for all the guys wearing suits ;-)). Damarys is also being pretty good at returning emails and phone calls, so far I haven't had any problems with her which is a releif from the messages posted by other brides who had to deal with her in the past! Hope you have a great time!

Hi Courtney,

Damarys just sent me the flowers to pick for the bride and the boutnotiere for the groom. She also sent me and updated list of the restaurnat menus. As far as cake goes, we haven't had that discussion with Damarys yet but my neighbour is getting married there in November and she had picked out the cake last time I spoke to her... so I assume it's all done before you get there. Just ask Damarys and from my understanding, she sends you pictures of all the types that you can pick.

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone! My name is Colleen and we just set our date at the Grand Sunset Princess for June 19, 2009! I am soooo excited - it seems beautiful and has gotten mostly positive reviews. Is this THE thread for GSP brides? I know there's been some talk about reception locations and menus...I would appreciate any information on that as well. Can't wait to talk more and get to know you guys better...thanks in advance for the help!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
